They came into the AFL 2 years after us and proceeded to go past us like we were standing still….. frustrating
They paid attention to the reaming we got on our start up concessions and pulled all sorts of shenanigans to put together a much more potential laden 1st list and hit the expansion club sweet spot of being a contender after about 5 years

They have a knack of hitting us where it hurts too ….. 2014 , knocking us out last year etc etc etc
Apart from our arseh*le next door neighbours I’ve always hated them 2nd …. which doesn’t really seem to be mirrored by most of our fans

So on too this weeks match up , Im genuinely struggling for motivation here so in the interests of keeping me interested I’ll apply my punters logic to the game ( gamble irresponsibly or you’ll never bloody get anywhere ) and see where it ends up , I’d say I’ve been doing quite well this year for a change mostly due too A : I didn’t think we were anywhere near as good as the pre- season hype and even if we are we DO NOT handle expectations well …so some nice collects betting against us ( it’s actually the smart play because you understand your own team the best … but Freomaniac … KEEP THAT **** to YOURSELF ) and B : I believe in bounce back games more than most but it’s a dangerous strategy and you’ll never hear a pro give it much credibility
Freo was slightly more favoured than Port this year by the books maybe 1 game apart on the season win totals so let’s say
- FREO 52% vs PORT 48% because those buggers have lots of big assed computers crunching numbers 24 hrs a day …. you might not like it but you have to respect it

Freo had a good win away against GWS , Port fans sang their hearts out to NEVER TEAR US APART and the team responded by getting ripped apart like rotisserie chickens by Geelong , a fate FREO has also unfortunately suffered this year …. at least we weren’t at home and I don’t think I’ve ever hear our fans sing a bar of ****ing COLDPLAY
I’m reticent to add too much weight to Freo’s good performance due to the 6 v 9 day break stupidity

If there’s one thing worse than getting completely shitmixed at home its getting completely shitmixed at home and losing a handful of B22 players , unfortunately for FREO apart from Frank Horn ( I refuse to acknowledge hypens for footy players … but that’s a conversation for another time ) and big Rattawhatever most of those injuries can only help Ports cause Jones ( Ethan Hughes with a lot more hair everywhere , I think his moustache is actually just really long nose hair ) Burton ( a very handsome , very skilled hoax ) Sinn ( most noteworthy thing he’s even done is headbutt the ground in that Paul Curtis tackle)
Freo are missing 2 of our top 4 most dynamic players also in NOD and Young and 2 of our top 2 most un-dynamic players in Darcy and JOM…Freo’s had slightly more time to adjust

I’m reminded of my younger days when looking at this match up and how mum used to buy a 4L tub of Neapolitan ice cream every fortnight
The chocolate ( neither of these clowns ) gone in 2 days
The Vanilla ( JLo obvs ) lasted about a week
The pink crap ( Kenny ) still be there today if it didn’t get piffed
