Has your memory forgotten that he rested up forward against us in the 1st game of the year??

He had the massive total of 5 kicks for the game and kicked 1 goal.

He's no worry up forward!!
I remember but he is much improved player at this stage of the season. Sandilands along with every other Docker seems to grow an extra leg when playing at bloody Subiaco.

Make no mistake this will be a bloody tough game!!!!!!;)

According to today's 'Tiser, Hentschel could earn a recall. Not really a surprise to me as he is highly rated around the club and it appears that Ayersy is prepared to give him a run every time there is an opening.

Personally, I think the big Subiaco Oval would suit him but having said that I wouldn't select him this week as it will be a sort of a mini-final. If he can perform well this week in SANFL I would be tempted to give him a run against St. Kilda the following week.;)

Oh and from the South Website:
3rd Best: Topline Paints award: Michael Doughty
2nd Best: Reynella Hair Design: Ben Warren
Best: St Francis Winery award: Aidan Parker

Is a promotion for Aidan gonna happen soon?

If there are 2 changes it would be for 2 talls IMHO as Freo do have a lot of good talls in their side that are also capable of playing on smalls and Mediums. As good as Doughty has been last week I doubt he will get a chance.

Cut of date for promoting a player off the rookie list so he is eligible to play this year is by Round 18. If Parker does get promoted it would have to be in the next couple of weeks. His last month has been very good and his form has been solid all year but a bit too inconsistent at times. Personally, I doubt he will be promoted for this season but he is a chance to come on the senior list at the end of the year especially since this draft is very thin when it comes to talls.

I read that in horror today, playing Hentschel this week would be a footballing disaster, but I have faith the selection committee know this and that Rucci was just trying to screw us for this weekend :o

Freo have a tallish backline and playing just the one genuine tall (Perrie) in our forward line might have its advantages.

But for the love of God, don't bring back Trent!

What would be the point anyway? Who would drop out of our side so Aiden Parker would play?

Smart? Hart? Bickley? John****? Edwards? Massie? Torney? McGregor?

Only multiple injuries in defence could get him in the tri colours this year. Frankly if Parker played for the Crows this year our season would be over before he ran out on the ground.

It would be great if we had Wayne fit for this week on the big Subi Oval.

Someone must know a old chinese tradition that makes you heal quicker or something?

I would be happy with only one forced change though, we have had that many injuries during training this year, it would be nice if they all got through training.

You don't like the kid much do you??????:)

If Perrie is the only tall then he would be targeted big time. If Perrie was performing well on one opponent then Freo would have another 4-5 options to choose from. From 4-5 players surely one will be able to stop Perrie.

Even tho that might be the case I would still not recall Hentschel for this game. However, I wouldn't mind him getting a game against St. Kilda and even Sydney.;)

It doesn't neccesarily have to be a defender. If club has any doubt about Stevo availability during finals then Parker could be promoted as an insurance. McGregor and Bassett are capable of cameo roles up forward. Parker can take a medium and tall forwards as well as ruckman when resting forward. I doubt he will get promoted before the end of the season but anything is possible I guess!!!!!!;)

Trent was struggling to get a kick and take a mark against one of the poorest tall defences in the league a month ago. He'd struggle to make a decent contest let alone get a touch against Freo at Subi, talk about destroying a kid's confidence. You don't play a tall for the sake of it.

I'm kinda of struggling with your logic regarding Sarge. Perrie will still be targeted regardless, as our only decent tall forward. Freo don't have to worry about Hentschel, they could put anyone on him, pretty much anyone over 180 cm could stop him at this stage.

Hopefully the King will only miss a week and we won't have to contemplate Trent playing AFL again this year. Let's hope he continues the good SANFL form though :)

No, I understand.

I guess all the talk this year about promoting Parker begs the question, what for? We have enough depth on our list to cover most eventualities. There is still Mattner available. Rutten and Hentschel can play forward and back. These guys would all have to get a game before Parker. Stevens and Perrie could play in the backline for that matter.

We can't promote rookies just because they play well in the SANFL, there has to be a reasonable need for them as well. Parker will most certainly be promoted at year end if good enough.

Sorry, probably over-reacted a bit before. :)

Remember the round one game?

Stevens, Perrie and Carey looked pretty good.

Adelaide may think about taking a chance and playing Carey, bringing back Perrie and also playing Trent.

Not very likely but you never know.

Finally we are playing a team that are probably favourites and they will actually try to win the game instead of trying to stop us from winning.

Should be a good game to watch, what time is it on Adelaide time?

Thats fine. It didn't come across that way;)

I agree with you. He will probably not get promoted until the end of the year. Personally I had a few doubts earlier in the year as if he would get promoted at all or would he just be given a another year on rookie list. Now I think he is almost a certainty as the draft is thin on talls.

Aidan Parker is a good prospect but I agree we don't need to promote him at this stage.;)

What I am getting at is that Perrie would be our only tall option up forward and hence he would get a lot more attention than usual. In that case he might start off with one opponent, if he plays well then Freo have another 4-5 options to use. Surely one of 4-5 players can stop Perrie.

If Carey played he would warrant most attention and Sarge would get a bit more "freedom"

If Perrie gets to be our only tall forward then I wouldn't be surprised if Freo double team him.;)

I understand Stiffy, but Trent isn't going to deflect any attention ;)

Hopefully Carey comes up, though it looks doubtful.

And agree with Jars, Shirls has to stay in the side for this week at least, hasn't put a foot wrong and his tough in and under style, together with his run-with abilities will be required against the Freo midfield.

I agree with you there ant. As I said I would not bring Trent in for this game but I would be tempted to give him a run against St. Kilda if he can have a good match in SANFL this week. Just to get a bit more experience under his belt, not to star. ;)

I hope Carey does come up but it would take a mighty effort to recover in time. It would be a miracle:)

I agree with you and Jars RE: Shirley. He has done nothing wrong and Bell and Haselby look like good match ups for Shirley. If by some miracle Carey recovers in time who would drop out for Perrie??????
