Strategy Freo's Top 4 Chances

This kind of stuff is why the AFL should float the final 3 round so teams don't cop back to back 6 day breaks (Hawthorn) or so there aren't any 6 v 8 day breaks (like us and Port). A bit of flexibility would be great - all the major soccer leagues in Europe modify fixtures based on other competitions, so why can't the AFL modify the fixture based on finals
Yeah floating 1 round wasn't enough this year. it didn't solve the inequities.

There is a slight chance of Freo playing Hawthorn in the first week (1 v 4) if we beat Port and Hawthorn move up to 1st on the ladder. Two things must happen:

- The Hawks would have to thump Collingwood tonight which wouldn't be surprising, given their injury troubles. It would have to be by a lot though (70+ points)
-Richmond beating Sydney. It might seem a long-shot but Richmond match up well on Sydney. In Round 14, they only lost to them by 11 points and will be desperate to finish 8th.

So it seems if Richmond win by 4-5 goals and Geelong win, this happens, Hawthorn in the qualifying final for us (or Port). Or if the Swans win and Geelong lose, same result, we get the hawks.
