Since Rd 15:

In: Harley, King, Ling, S.Johnson, Rooke, Playfair, Mackie, N.Ablett

Out: Chapman, Chambers, Rahilly, Blake, Haynes, Thurley, Koulouritis, Byrnes.

Enright, DJ may come up as well.
Now that's some impressive changes, some of the most important players in our last few weeks there, I think with Harley back in the backline it gives Scarlett the support he needs and allows Rooke to take out a player like he has done so well recently.

If Enright and DJ were to come up (Chappy is unlikely?) you'd think maybe Mackie and Gardiner to go?

Anyone else rate Charlies game on Sat? I thought he did enough to play again this week...

Getting excited - not too often I get to see the boys play seeing I live in Syd!

Chapman was the danger man last time at the SCG...is he out due to form or injury?

As I was arriving that evening Ling was in his trackies walking back the other way to the car/hotel. He looked paler than usual (and that's saying a lot). Scarlett was well down on his usual form - was he ill as well?

Harley and King will make a big difference.

Top game from Mooney on the w/e. He got the irrates early in the 2nd quarter at the SCG this year and his game suffered because of it. The Bloods will try and get under his skin (as will I from the sideline).

Whoever plays on Sanderson needs to be accountable.

I think the last result was probably an accurate reflection of the cattle on the park and I'd expect a closer contest this time around.

I didn't rate it too highly.

I'd imagine he or Mackie would make way for Chapman.
To Charlie's credit, he did look a tiny bit creative when he had the ball, but his disposal and decision making was pretty cr**

Chapman has a dodgy hamstring thus resulting in his absence from our team.

Should be in the team this week, but wouldn't be fully fit.

With that said an 80% Chapman > Gardiner, Tenace, Mackie

Chapman playing with a torn hamstring would be an utterly useless exercise.

Is it torn, or is it as they reported "strained"?

Do we roll the dice and not play him and hope he is right for the Saints game? Or do we go all out by rushing him back? (same could be asked for Enright and DJ, though I doubt we'll be seeing Enright again this year regardless)

Reported as a slight tear in one of today's papers. Ever had a hamstring injury? Playing Chappy would make us virtually one down at the start of the game and we need 22 players playing.

Go CATS!!

No never had a torn hamstring, Shoulders are my speciality when it comes to getting pwned by injuries.

I was just under the impression it wasn't a tear and it was just a strain. If it is a tear then I concur with what you said.

Yes. We had used up all of our emergencies and Prismall didn't make it to Sydney on time so he had to play.
I can barely operate a computer with the flu, no wonder he was a little of the pace.....probably seeing stars from pseudoephedrine.

Especially being a night game, the air will be cold and perfect for soft tissue injuries. Playing him this week would probably end his season.

Sydney v Geelong, Friday night, SCG.

Given our perceived lack of pace, will the SCG suit us better?

This is bad for Geelong, in my opinion. Playing at Homebush, (yeah i know we havent played there before), but remember at the SCG, Sydney will have their bloody flooding crap going on, and our forwards have enuff trouble as it is!!

Homebush is about the size of the G right? Ah, well, having said that, the SCG IS about the ONLY interstate venue we can win at (losing by a goal, last year, winning in 2002... this season doesnt count as we were vomiting up lungs at half time and had a tonne of injuries!)...

I think rooke is nearly the most improved player this year and I rate a fit mackie over an unfit chapman. Mackie only needs to go harder at the footy and his game will lift heaps. Can't see chapman playing, and charlie will most likely be dropped for either enright or dj.

The imperative issue is Geelong having to play 3 games in 13 days. Total rubbish decision.
Yet I suppose its OK that the Swans will have had to of played 3 games in 13 days as well, including a trip to Melbourne and a trip to Perth? The only time you lot get on a plane in that 13 day period is the one that takes you to Sydney on Friday, where as the Swans have have four flights in the same period.

evryone is making a deal of the swans flooding killing our forward line but i think it could be a good thing. The flooding will result in a need for contested marks which we lead the league in and if we can at least get it to ground level we have some of the best small forwards in the league who can make something out of nothing in a tight situation in ablett and johnson

I personally wouldn't dispute your right to be annoyed at that. The clubs' situations are very similar, and that's the only part we can each be pleased at - one team playing three games in 13 days isn't playing against a team that's had 2 matches in 15 days, for example. We're evenly disadvantaged if such a thing is possible. It's a lot of travelling in a short amount of time, and given the AFL is ensuring there is a minimum seven-day break for any team that will play in the grand final through the preliminary final scheduling, it stands to reason that, where possible, seven days should be given between each final. Every final is as important as the next, particularly when you're playing cutthroat games. Having said that, I'm selfishly glad the game has been scheduled for Friday night, as I wouldn't have been able to make the pilgrimage if it had been played on Saturday afternoon or night.
