How does the AFL come up with the fixture?
Great way to kick the weekend off with a bore fest.
15th vs woodern spooners who aren't AFL standard.
    What a joke!

Well it’s nothing new. Pretty sure there’s a huge thread somewhere about the fixtures.

The AFL has no idea and has been getting it horribly wrong the last few years. Need to look at introducing a flexible fixture.

Both were expected to be on the up when the fixture was drawn up.

This is why they need to look at having some sort of flexibility with the fixture.

I’ve seen that many games on channel 7 the last few years that were terrible because the two teams involved weren’t anywhere near as good as the AFL thought they would be or a good team is dealing with a heap of injuries and gets smashed.

The AFL needs to stop guessing when it comes to the fixture and just give all teams equal exposure.

Saints were meant to be a team challenging for finals whilst Carlton were expected to come good for the first time in 15 years

By who? St Kilda, yeah, there was a fair bit of optimism about in some quarters. But Carlton? If by "on the up" you mean not expected to be a total shambles, then yes; pushing for the eight or anything like it, who expected that?

I don't really agree with the idea that Friday night should be marquee match-ups every week. I'd rather it was shared around more evenly, including games without a Vic team playing. But while the AFL maintain that it based on performance, match-ups like this deserve to be questioned as it really does not look like it.

Anyone who thought Carlton were going to be good has NFI. St Kilda and Melbourne, sure, they were tracking alright. But Carlton were down with North and the Suns with no sign of a drastic jump.

Could be a close, competitive, enjoyable game.

AFL should have a flexible fixture with a couple options and set it 8 rounds in advance.

Coll v WCE should swap with Stk v Carl

If Carlton have another 10 goal+ loss, it could be quite an enjoyable game.

Except both Collingwood and West Coast played on Sunday this round, meaning a 5 day turnaround... Also Etihad is already in use next Sunday.
