Could be wrong but I always thought that Walters is relatively slow for a small bloke in the AFL, I'd say that Ballantyne would comfortably faster.

Yeah, Son-Son is all kinds of wonderful, but he definitely isn't quick.

Knowing where the ball will go before the other bloke takes care of that though.

With regard to our loss to North - someone posted on the MB that in the last 12 years only 8 times has a team been handed three consecutive 6 day breaks, and the record in that 3rd game is 1-7.

Interesting tidbit if true.

Thats the big thing though, how would you fact check that quickly?

We have had 5 6 day breaks in 6 weeks and one 9 day break.

With the tough teams we have in the first 9 rounds this just made it tougher.

If you've watched Fyfe "On the Couch" which is on the club website, its interesting that he says they are tweaking the game plan which they are finding difficult to adapt to and keep up the trademark pressure. He does state that they are reasonably happy with where they are which suggests, to me at least, that they know just how hard a run its been and that they expect things to improve in the second half of the year.

Took us half a season to adjust to Ross' gameplan in the first place, hopefully we will improve in the second half of the year again.

At the moment we are tracking for a 15-7 season IMO. The games against Geelong x2, Hawthorn and Port are what will be the difference between top 6 and top 4, hopefully we will take a step towards top 4 against Geelong this week.

Yeah I certainly can't be bothered, that's why I put the caveat in.

Just thought I'd check anyway and we didn't have 3 consecutive 6 day breaks before North.

Friday - Hawthorn
Sunday - Essendon - 8 days from last game
Saturday - Sydney - 6 days from last game
Friday - North Melbourne - 6 days from last game

Edit - If you think about it you could only have 3 6 day breaks in a row if you play on a Thursday or Monday.

It was in response to Hawthorn losing to Sydney, so I think they meant three consecutive games going Sunday-Saturday-Friday.

edit - actually they played the Monday before that too, so you're right, it doesn't apply to us. Carry on

I've been having a bit of chit-chat about it in the the stats question thread, starting about here. You might want a gander.
Ross Lyon has had a poor 6 day record while at Fremantle, he is 8-9 in all 6 day break games
That part is interesting - way below Lyon's overall winning percentage with us.
