not sure if its been spoken about or whether last nite was the first time they've shown it but Foxtel had coverage of the grand final with a microphone going into the coaches box so that we could hear Lethal's comments throughout the whole game. Anyone else watch this? I thought it was a great new perspective and in the words of Mike and Gerad who were creaming themselves on the couch "Something none of us will ever get the chance to experience"

They had it on the Friday after the GF.
I think they've had it on at least once a day since.
I'm getting sick of flicking it over and seeing it. Although is was funny to hear Leigh scream "Where the f*** is Mal?" Shouldn't have bleaped it out though.

oh understand fully wot u mean but my parents cut foxtel off after the grand final and coz they couldnt live without it have just got it put back on again so thats why i only saw it last nite. Definately get ya point tho i can see its gonna be a bl00dy long summer with them replaying things till we memorise them.

I thinks Akers got a pretty thick skin. It was not his best game and he's admitted that.
I was always taught, "when they stop yelling and pushing you, they have given up on you". From that if I was Aker, I'd be happy that Lethal is prepared to spend his energies worrying about me.
Pity Mick wasn't wired up to, so we could have compared the coach's reactions to different situations.
Seemed to work remarkably well in the last quarter - one of the great documented moments in coaching. Lethal and Gary O'D both have the same thought, send runner out, runner delivers message, ball comes in, player obeys instruction, kicks goal, wins game.
Yeah it was.
But as Leigh once said, "Yeah, I coach really well when Voss and Aker are firing."
It wasn't anything special.
He had been telling Aker to play in front of Lynch all day so he could crumb some goals. Just re-inforced it at the end and it finally came off. Its not brain surgery to put a quick,pacey,crumbing,good hand and ball skills player who has a Brownlow medal in the vicinity when the game is on the line deep in the forward line.

On aker was he injured or sick coz Sheehan commented on it at the three qtr time break sayin somethin bout them not realisin how sick he was or something and i think they considered havin to take him off in the last minutes?

Good thing he will be having surgery on it coz i remember an afl.com.au article saying that the prognosis wasn't that good and he could have missed the 2003 season if things f*ked up even more.
