He's been in the job for barely 2 months. Seriously, what are you expecting him to have done?

I have no real opinion one way or another on him as a President. Hasn't been in the role long enough for me to know. I really don't get where you are coming from. Why the hatred? Are you blaming him for Carlton being 0-4?

Exactly, Robert Priestly has hidden under a desk in Sydney and done nothing...oh except he sent an email, an hour before last week's game, announcing 2 more unelected corporate board appointments

I have always said forever and a day that I prefer to not have to see or hear the president of my club. I prefer them to to get on with business in the background and make my club better, not use the position as a vehicle for self promotion narcism. When I look at all the strong clubs, I reckon I would struggle to tell you who their president is, that's the way I like it.

I can hardly name any of them from the other 17 Clubs and have no idea who they are!

I wonder if Robert Priestly realises he is detested by the majority of the supporter base.

I dont have any reason to detest him personally, more that he just comes across as another unrelatable corpo/suit type that doesn't inspire in me much confidence that we're moving in any different sort of direction.

Could be a lovely fella behind the scenes, could well be great in the role, but I just don't know. Anyway if he doesn't bring any controversies that's a win at least.

Why? He transitioning into the role with Cook, he needs to share none of that info gathering with anyone external to the club IMO.
We will hear from him in good time when he is the CEO full time, in the mean while, same as with the Prez, dont want to see or hear from them.

Can you the name the club presidents of the last 5 premiership clubs without googling? I think you’re overestimating their importance. The CEO is more important.

It is the Board and Presidents who oversee key appointments at the club. The Carlton Board has ratified the appointment of second rate managers that have produced perpetual under achievement.

Correct Priestly emanates from the same sphere and appears to have no feel for the game. You have correctly identified, this is likely to perpetuate the cycle of under achievement.

Section 5.2, page 10. Given Priestley is 'detested by the majority of the supporter base', I'm sure you'll have no problems getting the 100 member signatures to call an extraordinary general meeting and call for a board spill. You are a member, right? Otherwise, you can wait till the AGM in Aug/Sep to cast your vote.

Whilst you're reading, also have a look at section 9.8 on p21 which explains how the current board were able to fill the two casual vacancies left by the departures of Sayers and Lincoln.

I'll also point out that none of the existing board members have been in the position for more than 6 years, and most 4 years or less, so not sure how you can argue that the current board has 'delivered 25 years of failure'.
