Not looking for the best forward or best defender; or whoever else takes the best defender/forward.

Sydney and the WB were quite difficult for selecting a Full Forward, let me know if I've misplaced somebody.

For mine:

Hawthorn
West Coast
Brisbane
Geelong
Collingwood

Are the standouts.

Dunstall / Langford.

Too hard to pick from that lot.

If you put up Taylor Walker and Ben Rutten then they'd get my vote.

Each other combination have their strengths and weaknesses. Throw a blanket over Brisbane, Geelong, Hawthorn, North and West Coast. I would have said Melbourne too except for the poor year that Frawley had.

With bias, I'd say Petrie/Thompson.

Excluding my own side, I'd say Hawthorn. Just.

I went with the WCE duo on the presumption of form and fitness. Lonergan and Hawkins are in the mix after that and as HHH said, throw up Walker and Rutten and they'd be right up there too.

To satiate my bias, in best form and full fitness Jamison and Waite are a more than handy duo as well, but they're so injury prone they've rarely been on the ground fully fit at the same time :(

Why put Dawson over McPharlin?

They would have gotten my vote if McPharlin was there.

Also Roughead instead of Franklin is a weird one
Because McPharlin is a Centre Half Back.

Roughead plays out of the square, Franklin off the 50.

In my view, a team has two KPF's and two KPD's.

The players that play closest to the goals are the FB and FF.

Even if the difference is negligible, such as with Cloke and Dawes or McPharlin and Dawson.

It changes from club to club. North play 3 Key forwards in Petrie, Tarrant and Hansen, whereas Freo only play Pavlich as a key forward

Dawes is always closer to home than Cloke. I rarely see Cloke starting out of the goal square and Dawes further up. It's always the other way around

I usually see Dawes closer to the centre line than Cloke. Dawes is less of an avenue than Travis for them. Its all a matter of opinion I guess.

Agree with this Pav/McPharlin is an ominous set of bookends. .. Franklin/Shoenmakers probably makes more sense for the Hawks, otherwise its more a KPP Bookends poll. .. Plus Goodes is not the Swans FF. ..

Bazza Hall + B.Lake was probably one of the most exciting and could match anyone during WB's window. One of the scariest too. Didnt reach full potential though..

Merrett at Full Back? Since when does he play FB? Oh you mean last year when he was in the top 3 Full Backs in the league before Vossy thought it best to move our best defender to FF, while our other forwards in Lisle and Karnezis rotted away in the reserves. And as we saw, come about round 20 the master coach finally realised it didnt work. Top job Vossy!

Really? Davis was bad this year. Very bad.

Yes, it's the "Patton Factor"

Also Davis is 22 in a team playing its 1st year, what was you expectations of him this year. I mean McPharlin and Richards would have had their colours lowered in that backline.

Not too distant future, preferably next year!

Yeah ok, tough 1, you would be happy with the Crows and North pairs but I chose the Collingwood pair of Cloke and Brown. Cloke is an A grader and Brown is a very capable FB.

Oh and OP Glass is not the WCE FB, that is Mackenzie. And he is actually pretty dam good
