I started up a footy league here in Moscow, Russia last year. Had some success with it, and managed to take a Russian team to the Euro Cup in October.
Funds are problematic though. I want everything to be as cheap as possible for the players in order to garner a wide range of interest. Obviously, the cheaper something is, the more willing people will be to try it.
The budget for the year is around $15,000. Last year, we had a fundraising event which brought in $1000, and a sport bar which decided to sponsor us for a hefty sum of money.
This year, the bar may not be able to contribute.
Wondering if anyone has any decent ideas on how to go about obtaining funds for footy teams/leagues etc.
