I decided to post this thread on the back of something hilarious that happened on the way to the game on Saturday.

It's about 10:30 and we're heading up the highway, I had a flag in my hand and decide, 'hey, it's time you started waving this thing around', so I wave it at the first car I see... Wouldn't you know it, Mr B Ottens is in the passenger seat, gives a little smile and a wave, I then also notice Mr Mackie was driving the vehicle. Thought that was quite amazing at the time, that I decided to wave the flag at the exact time they went past.

Anyway, a little further up the road we notice their car is pulled up on the side of the road and see Mackie darting around the back of the car, reminiscent of one of his dashes out of the backline. It was pretty obvious to us what was going on. My mate winds down the window and yells out "Go Cats" as we drive by, where we see Mackie, Milburn and Ottens all relieving themselves quickly turn their heads to see who was yelling out at them.

Was an absolute classic and gave us something to talk about for the rest of the trip and most of the day.

We started singing on the tram back from Fed Square to Smith St and the tram drivier refused to move the thing until we stopped. Must have been a Port supporter.

my grand final story is pretty unbelieveable, but it sure did make my day!

we only got standing in M36 so u have to go down a level to the nearest dunnies...so at half time off i went...
running back up the stairs to my level, i look up, and in a mad panic is this bloke with an american baseball cap pulled down pretty low going down the stairs...

...none other than gary ablett sr himself! i had this big goofy grin on my face as i recognised him, but remained composed when he ask's "which way to the rooms?", to which my reply as he continued to rush past was "no idea mate...but GO NATHAN!" as he'd just kicked those two goals in a minute. was proud of myself for 'meeting' the great man and shouting out half pissed "GO NATHAN" but the question remains...

why does gary ablett sr not know where the rooms are at the MCG after countless games there??? it was in the ponsford stand so has tat been redone since he retired?

I won $300 on Steve Johnson so i bought 2 bottles of moet, 5 slabs of extra dry and 3 slabs of carlton. Gave mum the champers drank half the beer and took the rest to a party where all i can remember is steve johnson being toasted all night and me hooking up with this twin twice but in the morning i found out it was apparently both of the twins at separate times. I also talked to Billy brownless somewhere in the city
