On Sunday Clifton Springs played host to various celebrities and professional golfers for the annual Clifton Springs Pro Am.
The Cats players were there in force as usual, with KK, Scarlo (definites) and probably Timmy Callan and SJ playing as well.
As I have mentioned in a couple of past threads the players have been honing their skills on the course intensly this summer, as many have joined 13th Beach.
Anyway on Sunday KK, was flying. Like the night he kicked 7 straight on Fletcher at the Dome he was having a day out. With four hole to go he was on 30 points and looking a monty to take the chocolates.
After a scrappy drive on his 15th hole KK found himself in a precarious position in a dry natural creek bed. After asking advice from his caddy KK was thrown the SW and told to play out safely toward the front of the green and try and get up and down from there.
After some further deliberation KK, pulled the trigger and thinned the ball straight into a rock further down the creek. The ball bounced back and hit KK square in the nuts. He hit the ground like a bag of spuds. So bad was his injury that he lay motionless on the ground for 45 minutes, letting four groups play through. He didn't even finish the round which was eventually one by Scarlo with 38 points.
He was on serious anti inflamatorys all day yesterday, and I am not sure if he is training. David Diaz who shot a course record 61 last year was also in the group. He obviously wasn't able to contain himself as he had a shocker and finished well over par.
Guess he gets a little yippy on the golf course as well.
