Seymour. If the first viewing of that episode didn't absolutely destroy your soul you're not human."He always wanted to drift... but through the American southwest!"
Futurama surprisingly packs quite an emotional punch for an animated comedy. Fry's dog, the name escapes me. Tearjerker much?
Or the episode with the four leaf clover, with Yancy.
My favourite joke in that episode is when Zapp (in his skirt) climbs the ladder, and Kif goes to climb after him, looks up and shudders. The first episode of zapp brannigan is one of my all time favourite episodes of anything, including simpsons at its peak.
The whole bending of science / time etc gives them so much to work with, not to mention classic characters like zapp, kif, zoidberg.
It does what the early simpsons did so well, tells a story, with humour. Not just a show trying to squeeze gags into empty space.
I've seen this one so many times and I still laugh when the Robot Devil says Wow! That was pretty brutal even by my standards.haha i love tales of interest

Seymour the dog. Emotional if you have some sort of attachment the same way he did.

Considering the level of consistent quality, it's a fairly strong argument that Futurama is a better show than the Simpsons when you compare their overall show runs. Obviously Futurama hasn't had the cultural impact that the Simpsons has, but the writing has been very strong throughout.
