We pass up on them time and time again

So you keep suggesting. Reality is that whenever we pass on a KPF we already have them. The issue isn't the lack of them, it's the quality.

When you are getting them predominantly from rookie selections or cat b internationals what do you expect the result to be?

4 Cat B's.....Cox, Wilson, Tohill, Keane and even the admirably performed Mihocek came off a mature rookie pick.

Only FS prospects Kelly and Moore were in genuine low end draft ranges.

The only others we had is the perennially broken down B.Reid, the solid Roughead (tick as a trade) and Dunnybrush (again a tick but due to age short service so maybe half a tick).

Those losses should have resulted in 2 picks between 10-20 plus our current first rounder and a decent 2nd rounder.

Unfortunately we have 1 high first rounder and a pick 60

I think we need to accept the new free agency era reality that gone are the days when you could push out an unwanted Dawes for pick 20 and Wellingham for pick 18.

In this day and age if you're a seller of an unwanted player you'll get way unders and if you're a buyer of a wanted player you'll get way overs.

If we're worried about losing a pick 6 from 3 years ago for a 2nd rounder, just think about Freo losing Hogan who they gave up pick 6 and 23 two years ago for a third round pick. They don't seem to be coping much flak about that.

We need to accept the new reality. We were clearly losers this period but I imagine we can just as easily win one of these in the next period.
