After the pre season compettion, you would have to say that Trent Hentschel will be our next full forward, as i have seen over the pre season Hentschel has the capabillity to kick a match winning score, kicked 5-6 goals against Collingwood late last year, and kicked 6 against Port in round 1 of the pre season cup.

Luke Jericho has been good over the NAB cup, and he might just get a few games under his belt this year, after a terrible year for the young kid in 2005.
This kid can only get better and better, and he might just be the small forward that the Crows have always been looking for. (you could say Matty Bode is the small forward we have been looking for,but as you all know, Matty Bode is coming onto 27 and he isnt young anymore.

Bernie Vince- Has become a great find for us over the draft period. Will play forward in his future, no doubt about it, has great hands, and is a very accurate shot on goal. He seems to stab at the ball when shooting at goal, but i think that only helps him kick more accurate. Has one of the best hands under pressure i have seen in the Crows forward line this year so far.

Those 3 players are looking set to have big 5 years for the Crows, and maybe a forward line that might just be unstoppable. Also we can have Ken McGregor down forward aswell, he aint young, and then again he defiently not old, he is in his middle stages of his career.
Chris Knights i believe will play as a forward, with an occasional run on the ball, has good sense where the goals are, but needs to work on his accuracy opproaching them.

I'm hoping thats the last we've seen of Luke Jericho...:thumbsd:

Vince
Vince
Vince and
Vince.

He has been the find IMHO. Great overhead and has a touch of class and great footy brain. He just needs to work on his pace a bit and we have ourselves a real player.

The forward line really struggled last night with Jericho there instead of McGregor. Kenny Mac does a lot of the hard work down there that just wasn't present last night and that unbalanced our structure.

Ideally the forward line has a staple core of Hentschel, McGregor, Perrie and Welsh there.

Burton Bode Knights and Skippy will all make guest appearances on a HF flank as will the resting on-ballers plus Vince.

Vince is a very likely type. For a player that has jumped from country footy to AFL in less than 12 months he has shown a fair bit IMO. Most importantly he has the footy smarts and you can't teach those.

A good example of that was his 9 pointer last night when he had a quick look, and punched the kick in low and hard so that the defenders didn't have time to get back to touch it.

Very strong hands for his size and good foot skills.

He needs to build up his pace off the mark - he knows that and is working on that plus his re-action time.

He doesn't have the athletic qualities of Jericho but he does have a heart.

He certainly looks to be a very likely type.

He's pace is fine. His playing style is similar to the birdman. Very good overhead, good hands and best of all has a brain bigger and better than the birdmans.Very classy as well.

Did Thommo say Jericho??? he obviously hasn't seen last nights game yet. Jericho won't/shouldn't play another game for the AFC. And all this talk about he is better suited to a wing or Hff or whatever doens't hold up IMO. The cold hard facts regardless of where Jericho plays is that there at least 3-4 players who could play the position just as well and definately show more toughness and endevour. It's not as though we are building a team around Jericho, why the need to somehow fit him in the side. He isn't up to AFL standard, end of story.

Damn, you're quck to kick a kid after one (terrible) game. He's only just finding himself at a senior level and had a couple of strong games before the disasterous final. Have a small amount of patience - if he doesn't bounce back, fine. If he sucks it up and learns from being humiliated, we have a much mentally stronger footballer.

.......

Lets see how Vince goes as the go to forward, with the oppositions best defender on him, and the weight of the supporters expectations on his shoulders before we claim him the next big thing.

Personally I think he's been quite good, but with out any of these things.
