Yeah. A dynamite small forward with midfield potential.
Can drift a little in/out of games so hopefully he can improve his consistency this year. Also gets the blinkers on a little too often when around the goals and when better options are available.
Has a bit of white line fever as well and hunts the ball & defender with great pressure.
He’s also pretty good in the air and can be a tough matchup.

Missed the 24’ U16 Champs due to injury and I expect him to be a key contributor in SA’s fwd line when Champs come around.

He would be a great addition to the Pies list, pity he falls just short of F/S.

He hits the footy really hard and fast.

**** knows how it will translate to higher levels.

Is that you, Tom?

Correct. And could also engineer a trade to upgrade our first rounder if required.
If we want him we can get him
He's not a pure mid and this draft has too many good players for a small forward to go ahead of them. He's a really good player though

Agree. I don't know about this draft, but it's taken being at Rankine/Watson level for small forwards to go top 5 like some have suggested he could go. I wouldn't be expecting it.

i actually really want him. If he can turn all that talent into decent midfield time, we'll have a gun. I'd take him just on his forward skills

He’s definitely got X factor and if he could build up his tank to play some midfield he’d be a real weapon.

He’s probably not even the best player in the Glenelg side this year but will be their most important due to his goal scoring impact. Sits behind Croker (Wing/Mid) & McNicol (Mid/Fwd) at this stage who are both super consistent mids.

All the talk is on Arki Butler from VM as the #1 small forward but I reckon Patterson is on par with huge upside if he can build his midfield game.

Whether or not he gets selected as part of the final squad, the U16's are a tougher squad to get into with limited spots, but seems 2028 F/S prospect, Benjamin Richardson (Mark's son) is training with Northern Knights U16 program currently.
Kicked 34 goals in 14 games last year for Heidelberg.

wasn’t Mark the reason we didn’t go ahead with Lockett?
This is his shot at redemption!

OMG
Did Mark Richardson actually make it to 100 games with us?

So many potential father-sons over the next few years. Going to be hard to grab them all if they turn out to be guns with the tightening of the rules over the next few years.

To have the potential players in house is great. The ability to select the best players of the group is easier. We need those players to have more elite traits. Players with those traits will cost more. The cost is welcome.

Not only did Mark hit 100 games for your Pies, he added another 41 games to his tally.

Midfield will take a mindset change - except for occasional breaks from stoppage. At the moment he's just flat out and blinkered every time he gets it.

I bloody hope he’s a better set shot than his dad was
Looks like he kicked 34 goals in 14 games. Hard to find much more info other than that. Seems solid, but clearly got the attention of the Knights futures program to add him to train through pre-season.

I’m amazed you took Apex’s post seriously.
