Well, if on field success(or lack thereof) is cause for King James of SANFL to be weighing up other fiefdoms as his seat of power, surely the chances of his accepting the role of Lord Protector and Supreme Ruler of Carltankerry have been severely diminished by the woeful performance of his prospective Blue Blood subjects on today's battlefield.

Especially when the powers of Lord Malthouse the Grey (now even Greyer) appear to have deserted him

Just straight swap for Tom Bell will do me. Probably unders but he constantly has a crack and is the midfield/hff bull we need.
Bell goes alright, doesn't he?

I could live with that too.

Beginning to think there's a touch of the Jack Watts about Aish and that making him someone else's problem mightn't be all that bad.

worst then watts..Aish has the sooks on and is letting his manager make an arse of himself. Watts has always tried hard, and so too scully. Aish has premaddona written all over him atm

Huh? Plenty of games where l have seen him shying away from contests and not trying.

In regards to Aish, he is nothing like Watts, he is a 2nd year player who is down on form. In his 1st year he was one of our bests for contested possessions. He will have a very good career and a be a very good player, just not with us. As long as we get adequate compensation l could live with that. Would prefer Bell than another 18 year old, not sure if he would like to come to us tho.

Can't hep but feel that amazingly awesome post from lewey on Instagram referencing his "win with his best mates" was a little dig at Aish, or at least to unify those wanting to stay. Also rocky saying "one of his worst weeks in football", I don't think that was strictly about the leppa incident, having a young gun on your list talking with other clubs at round 6, would hurt and be a kick in the guts to the young guys busting their ass trying to build a career with the lions.. I'm not under valuing what that might of done to spurr them on. Leppa wouldn't have used it, but I dare say rocky would have got around to a few players and said "these pricks think they can walk all over us, are we going to show them we arnt just push overs, let's show pretty boy who's got a brighter future" lol...

I don't think there was anything sinister in that comment. They are two of Aishy's best mates at the club! They all live together! I think he is simply showing how they are all together as one. I wouldn't read into that too much!

way too much venom flowing about aish here , hes a 19 year old kid folks , if he needs time to commit give it too him , he is getting advise from the arse of all player managers dont forget. well if he dont want to stay in the end what can we do ? just get the best deal we can and trade in someone commited to the program ! but lets not burn bridges just in case the kid ends up staying !

Has Aish said he doesn't want to play at Brisbane?
Him and his manager has thrown the club under the bus by their actions so far. they are perfectly entitled to do what they've done but what a way to go destabilizing the joint. "he didn't say he doesn't want to be here". Really ?!

Said the same on roster watch.. I am concerned we are feeding media to this extent, even for a player who might be definitely leaving. Don't want other players to start thinking this way about our club.

Yeah I don't think it was sinister, perhaps I shouldn't have used the term, 'dig'. I think that it was a message from one of our young players that the young core is united, despite all the bad news in the media, and I feel as if the Aish story, whether directly or indirectly would have been catalyst to the desire to make that post. That's how I read it anyway. Rocky said this morning the Aish rumour was disappointing and he would be meeting to talk with him about it, so clearly the impact I suspected it might have had around the club and the playing group - could be true.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, I reckon Pickering could be telling the truth, I feel there is a chance Aish stays with Lions, certainly I believe we are front runners.

Lukius, you really don't mind jumping to conclusions. If Aish was one of our better midfielders and was in his 5th/6th year, then perhaps I would think there might be a connection but I really doubt that internally the Aish contract situation is focused on anywhere near as much as you think it is.
