Great comparison Lloydy! Yet another sparkling insight from one of footy's great minds. :drunk:
Wines played consistently well from the outset and became basically a walk up start for Port every week.

LLoyd makes it sound as if Port were somehow carrying him through patches of bad form. Clearly wrong.

I couldn't stand LLoyd as a player and can take even less of him as an "expert"

Can't believe he's got any cred at all.

He's a flog.

Seems everyone is speculating about what is really going on and why all the cloak and dagger stuff, so I'll have a go too:

Wild and Unsubstantiated Speculation #128:

James loves the Lions and Brisbane but it under enormous pressure from family and friends to "come home", which is the last place he wants to go since he was ecstatic to get away in the first place. Now he needs a cover story of listening to all and any offers, in the hope that someone (not Adelaide or Port) trumps the Lions best offer.

This way he can tell the folks back home that he just can't come back because he's had the offer of a lifetime from a Melbourne club..

Easy. It's as clear as day

I'm a genius.
.... Or he could just like you know stay in Brisbane as a moral and integrity issue rather than a financial one...

Is the 400k still on the table or does him saying no or not yet effectively free the Lions from having to go that way ... ie can they reduce it based on current expectations etc?

If it was 400 it wouldn't be reduced whatever happens with his form.He could do a knee however..

I didn't mean after he signed it, I meant are the still obliged to keep that offer open now or are they well within their rights to change it to 350 or something?
We are not obliged but would be terrible business to do so.

The 400 stands whatever happens with his form.

Also,I meant do a knee before he signs. The offer might be tweakable if that was to happen.

I would honestly pay $400,000 to a kid like Lewy Taylor. Lewy loves the club and wants to stay. I rather reward Lewy to his commitment to the club then to a kid who is undecided and holding the club at ransom.
Its not that we are offering him that much....its that anyone, let alone a kid still a teenager having to even think about whether he will accept that amount...

That is a humungous amount of money in anyones language.....

..I would say yes, and thank you very much before they even finished asking if I wanted that much!!

...and I would also pay that much to Lewy and particularly Andrews if they show a love of our club.

I can confirm previous speculation that Arrested Development is not a movie.

I heard this at a BBQ from my sisters husband, who's workmates auntie was best friends with someone who watched it once.
err that might be me
