Ox is a great kick and mark, really good at intercepting and can find the footy. Is a good size but lacks speed. People say he is soft but I don't really see it.
Seedsmans provides good run and carry, an overrated kick and is very soft and makes dumb decisions.

If I were you guys I would go for Ox especially given he's from QLD and won't wanna leave in few years. He's the superior player.

Noticed Aish only has a disposal eff of 63%.. Is he a bad kick or is that stat surprising?
Aish has kind of been bad at everything this year which tends to mean stats don't really tell any story at all. The combo of second year blues with an uncertain future means that this year should be a huge anomaly - unless of course it isn't.

This may be as good an opportunity as Brisbane get to make an example of players wanting to dictate terms. Best I see Brisbane doing on the trade table is a late first rounder which is not of great value in what is purportedly a very weak draft. They make a pretty strong statement by sending a pick 7 into the draft and all they lose is a pick in a weak draft. Given that Brisbane has demonstrated its susceptible to players leaving, it seems like a move that may have some medium-long term value for relatively little cost.
OMG dream on! We will never do this. We will take the best offer and use the pick on our Academy kids. Don't go into denial and convince yourself that we will let him go into the PSD and you get him for nothing but its still good for us! Facts are what will be great for us is to have a higher % of Qld based talent on our list so we can more easily manage our list and the go home factor.

Could of sworn that I had Collingwood listed as my team. As the post that I quoted suggested (did you even read it?) if Aish goes into the PSD there is about 0 chance that the Pies get him and fwiw I don't even think he is a player that Collingwood should be specifically trying to headhunt :(. I was merely agreeing with other Brisbane posters about how to address what is clearly a systemic player retention problem.

Sorry Schraderbrau, I went off on a rant. I saw Schraderbrau and jumped to conclusions that you were a pies "Scharenburg" troll. Again feel free to share your ideas and hopefully we get a great outcome. I'll try to read posts with a little more focus and less emotion and impulsiveness.

So every club has the same retention problems?
self entitled pri*ks who come to a One of the developing states and can't handle the lack of attention and mummys bosom

how many players have left GWS as well, just not raised as much given how much elite talent they were given?

all the non victorian clubs have had players leave at some point in the past 3 years due "homesickness" we just ended up having a very bad year

Very few players have left GWS in reality. Considering their salary cap and list size restrictions there was always going to be handful who left, but they've kept 99% of the players they wanted to.

No club compares to the loses Brisbane have suffered, and you say it's not a systemic issue?

GWS:

Adams
O'Rourke
Tunbridge
Probably Treloar
A couple of their initial rookies who walked out

And those were the ones they'd rather keep, so I'm not including the likes of Hombsch, Giles, Edwards, Aylett, etc, that were given opportunities at new clubs.

If it's so systemic to Brisbane, why does it always seem to be the first rounders, not the later ones? The ones that have been told how great they are since day dot, who can walk anywhere? The Reddens and Rockliffs and Adcocks hang around, because they've had to work at their AFL career. I would've thought it'd be a proportionate walking out if that was the case?

They didn't really want to keep O'Rourke, they had to dump some of their initial rookies because their cap sizes has been decreasing every year. Tunbridge was a completely unknown 18 year old from 2011.. you're scraping the barrel there, it's pretty much Adams and Treloar.

first rounders attract far more interest from other clubs early in their careers, which is why they're more likely to leave.

4 players (two of whom were pushed out) leaving over the past 4 years, is that unusual for an AFL club?

Are you suggesting we have the same player retention issues as Brisbane?
We all know how big a disaster the Go Home 5 were for the Lions at the end of 2013 but last year the majority of the players extended their contracts. Only player who left last year was Crisp in the Beams trade. Let's see what happens this year. Clearly Aish is gone.
