So now we're negotiating? **** this spineless club, i swear.
Pretty naive to not think the club will negotiate if a good deal is tabled. Might want to temper your emotions a tad. Clearly this is our first shot indicating that we won't be accepting just draft picks especially second rounders.

Very much this. The balancing mechanism that is required to create a competition of relative equality is badly broken. The NRL remains relatively equalized because the sole equalization tool, a salary cap that makes clubs only deal with market forces, works better than a multi-faceted draft/trade/FA/salary cap equalization that the AFL uses. Ours is just a mess. The NRL at least has evidence of theirs working effectively.
At one point, the AFL could have at least said that club loyalty was stronger than in the NRL but these days that would be a fairly dubious claim to make.
Except the NRL has only 1 expansion, non-heartland club that is situated in the best sporting market in the country. Would significantly change if they added a Perth and Adelaide team IMO.

If Collingwood are offering only Pick 19 they'd have to upgrade a few of our other picks too.
It wont be just pick 19. It will definitely be multiple picks . We could send you two second rounder which could be 19 and 24 for aish and maybe a late third rounder . Just a suggestion, keen to see what people think of this

We need a first round pick for Aish. Come back when you have one. Bye Bye

I have a good source who has just told me the offer made by the pies was Jesse White and their second rounder for Aish. The Lions told them to **** off.

Safe to say I doubt we'll entertain any offer they make. Bunch of scum.
Please... no one rates Jesse White and we certainly wouldnt offer him up for Aish. Sounds like BS to me

I would take pick 19 and Jed Anderson for Aish if collingwood can satisfy hawthorn with something for him as well.

Think that would make us happy as we wouldn't be going back 2 years in development with that.

If a trade were to occur it won't be a second rounder plus steak knives. The player involved would have to be the main draw card of the trade with the pick as a top up.

My advice to Neil Balme is that offering insulting trade offers in private while simultaneously swinging your dick in the media is no way to run a footy club.
have you seen the man, his dick hasn't been sighted since 1990

Lets assume Collingwood trade pick 7 and their 2016 2nd rounder for Treloar (note that even if they traded their 2016 first rounder it's irrelevant for us as you basically can't trade your first rounder and second rounder when they're future picks)

What could they actually give us that's fair value?

Say they get 19 for Seedsman (I'm optimistic), and 22 for Freeman. We could call that the core of the trade.

What else do they throw in to make it work? Would 19,21 and 25 do it? I'd be bloody tempted personally.

Our only hope of getting something substantial for Aish seems to lie in another Victorian club getting in his ear.
I think your way to optimistic for both. At best we're getting a late second rounder for Seedsman which is a pretty meaningless pick in what is apparently a very weak draft. Not sure if we get pick 22 for Freeman either. He hasn't played for two seasons due to injury which I think affects his value a lot.

Having said that I reckon two picks in the 20's is about fair value for Aish. Apparently the draft really falls away at about pick 30. 19, 21 and 25 seems a bit much tbh. That's three pretty good picks for a player who has shown he is pretty good but by no means a future star.

Yeah I can't see us making this offer unless we were wanting him to enter the PSD or if I were running the show.
