Not in my neck of the woods - if a statement has to be make him the whipping boy
It gets mentioned in the latest AFL.com trade update - "the club are yet to adequately explain how the tough stance benefits the club" - I suppose that's what I'm still waiting on, I was just relieved that Aish trade hypotheticals had started flying and people went from "it's never happening" to "we are just posturing" - I was actually freaking out there for a bit

Oh yeah, don't expect him to get the irony. I see it as "privately" as in "I made it up all on my own" as opposed to "someone told me" or "I pinched it off an internet forum" (although he totally would have).
I've definitely seen Collingwood supporters "privately noting" (well, this is an anonymous forum;)) that we shouldn't be asking for a priority pick if we're prepared to lose Aish for nothing. Coincidence?

So it appears over the last 24 hours that 'general sentiment' has gone from "send him to the draft, no exceptions, off with his head" .. To.. "We are just posturing a deal will get done". Is it fair to say once the initial rage passed we have slowly realized how ludicrous losing him to Carlton for nothing is?
Haha, wow. The smugness.

I thought this was gamesmanship from the start personally.

Agreed...I made this exact point in another thread - Pricknose is trying very hard not to inflame the situation and actually mentions that he is not trying to outmanoevre Lethal - he is very much on the back foot.
There are other threads? I am having trouble just keeping up with *this* one!

I'll take that as a yes then. And no, IMO 95% took the club line literally and were championing the notion of sending him to the draft, that has changed now which is great. Seriously, there was a bit of cheeky sarcasm in that post, but are you really going to pull me up on it? The smugness? The amount of times I've seen you step in and quip "are we all still losing our minds about this or that?" or make some wide sweeping sarcastic barb about an issue other posters have and opinion on or are having a 'meltdowns' about, I couldn't even start to count. Maybe I was a bit if a smart Alec, but I actually think the post has a reasonable thread of truth to it, which is most likely why I got the reaction I did .
