Brisbane Set To Lose Schache in Stunning Circumstances

Former number two draft pick and second generation Lion Josh Schache has abandoned the struggling Queensland Club and is thought to be highly unlikely to return.

Reports surfaced last week that Schache had finished his season early, packed his possessions and returned home. In doing so he forfeited his chance of playing in the clubs NEAFL premierhip, despite being eligible and uninjured. It was the second time he returned home to Victoria during the 2017 season. He took an extended leave of absence mid season to weigh up his future before stunning the AFL world by re-signing with the Lions, despite strong interest from rival clubs including Richmond.

But it seems this time Brisbane will not be so lucky. Several reports emerged yesterday suggesting Richmond were poised to snatch the young forward away with a late first round pick as compensation to Brisbane. Former great Jon Brown appeared to confirm this, openly stating on AFL360 last night that a pick around 15 would be satisfactory for the Lions.

It would be a stunning turn around for both the Lions and Schache, who have stated on numerous occasions that he would not be traded. Schache of course only re-signed in July and would also be turning his back on his late fathers former club. The move is likely to raise eyebrows and further erode the percieved value of player contracts. However in this case it appears that it might just be a mutually benificial situation with Brisbane Academy product Connor Ballenden likely to join the club as a readymade replacement.

This will probably be on the Herald Sun website within the hour.

I'm glad this is now the off season and most players are overseas or at least away from the club, otherwise this constant schache speculation would potentially start to become a bit of a distraction

However, speculation has surfaced that he too is keen to eventually move to a club in AFL heartland, either through the 2017 NAB AFL draft if not selected by the Brisbane Lions or upon completion of his first contract with the Queensland club in 2020.

Added a bit at the end so we can start the next two year cycle of speculation.

If we lose schache, especially for pick 15. Then * this basketcase of a club. Seriously, ******* hell. Enough with being bent over, okay?

Do you think we have idiots running the club now?

Given our history, you can understand my trepidation towards this issue. Say, (and this is a hypothetical here), we lose schache, we better make sure ninthmond coughs up something more than that shithole of a pick

None of the GH5 were contracted, that's why we got screwed. Schache is contracted for another 2 years so there is no chance we would be letting him walk out the door for pick 15.

NO WAY! BECAUSE SCHACHE'S NOT LEAVING!!
"...the second is anger...."
WHY YOU LITTLE!!
"...and after that comes fear"
What's after fear. WHAT'S AFTER FEAR??!!
"...bargaining"
SCHACHE! YOU GOTTA STICK WITH US! WE'LL MAKE IT WORTH YOUR WHILE!
"...and finally acceptance"
WELL, THEY ALL GOTTA GO SOMETIME

There's one glaring error in your reporting though - that's a noticeable lack of "Brisbane? Who the f**k is Brisbane and as if anyone gives a s**t anyway" attitude through out. The face you ended on an almost positive note for Brisbane just proves you are a fraudster. No one will ever take you seriously until you learn to backhand and undermine everything the Lions do. Then and only then will you fool everybody.

Which decent midfielders on their list can't get a game. I think it might be fifteen and a player who will slot straight in maybe a miles but not sold on him but does look like he's gone

Y
Can't see Nobes accepting steak knives in the deal.Steak knives are commonly added by bigfooty posters when they realise how horrific their initial hypothetical is to make it slightly more possible
yeah fair enough do agree but not sure we will get what we think he's worth contracted or not both their firsts aren't great so they need to trade up but that's their problem I would be happy if he goes to be honest he brings too much negative publicity to the club (no fault of his own) but we have some good kids buying in and time to go forward keep up the positive vibe if you don't wanna be here see ya later
