The academy boys have started well. Hoping they can score another win today and Scott, Graham, Koenen play well.

Bailey Scott produced another stellar display for Gold Coast Academy in their big win over Northern Territory.
The midfield gun is the son of Robert, who played 245 games for Geelong and North Melbourne.
Scott, who could end up at Geelong, North Melbourne or Gold Coast, had 29 disposals (18 kicks, 11 handballs), four clearances and kicked a goal.
Connor Budarick was just as dominant, the speedy onballer with 30 touches (13 kicks, 17 handballs), five tackles, four inside 50s and a goal.
Scott and Budarick gave their forwards plenty of opportunities, and Caleb Graham (six goals and 22 possessions) and Joshua Gore (five goals and 18 touches) capitalised.
Ashton Crossley - the younger brother of Brayden, who made his AFL debut for the Suns against the Bulldogs on Saturday – had 26 possessions (nine kicks, 17 handballs), six clearances and seven inside 50s.
Beau Schwarz (23 possessions, six tackles), Rodney Baird (21 touches, seven marks) and Liam Holt-Fitz (13 disposals, four marks, three tackles) competed hard all day for Northern Territory.

Underager. Is Gore draft age? Or is he underage like Crossley.
Luckily, there are some outstanding prospects who aren't eligible until 2019, so with the likes of Scott, Koenen, Graham, Portelli, and co vying to be Drafted along with a strong crop of those players who were overlooked in last year's guys like Baru, Boakye and Burke that could win themselves a Category B Rookie contract. Is Gore draft age? Or is he underage like Crossley.
Bottom agers to stand out are Ashton Crossley, Josh Gore, Connor Budarick in the Academy series, while Josh Molloy and James Mohr played NEAFL.Impressive to see two bottom agers in Budarick and Crossley being named in the bests. Ashton Crossley had 26 disposals, six clearances and seven inside 50s. Fair to assume he was playing in the midfield? I think he's a little over 6ft at this stage.
Underager.
Might be a junior to keep an eye on. He won't last at Carrara though. He'll have to switch to one of the big 4 QAFL clubs.JAMIE Whitehead is the 16-year-old talent building a reputation as the most exciting footy prospect the club has produced since Dayne Beams.
Beams is a Collingwood premiership player and was, up until this week, the captain of the Brisbane Lions.
But already Whitehead has secured a piece of Carrara Saints history not even Beams had the chance of achieving while playing as a junior at the footy club.
Whitehead became the youngest player in the club’s history to play senior football last weekend, recording 21 possessions, two goals and four tackles to help guide the QFA division three team to an 83-point win over Pine Rivers Nielsons Road Oval.
“Very rarely do I get goose bumps for something that happens in footy but when he kicked his first goal even our fullback ran to the other side of the field to basically throw him into the air,” Saints senior coach Nicholas Pearson said.
Whitehead, who played half-forward/flank last weekend, is breaking new ground for a club that has taken huge steps forward in recent years.
Carrara never had a senior men’s team when Beams came through the system and its absence has resulted in their best junior players leaving in search of more opportunities at other clubs.
Pearson believes Whitehead could be the best the Saints have boasted since Beams.
“They have had some real quality juniors come from the club but the problem is they venture to clubs like Southport, Broadbeach and Labrador because they are told that’s where they will be drafted from.
“Unfortunately for us we still don’t have an under-18 level that we can bring them in to but it was fitting to bring Jamie up and give him a taste of senior footy.
“Hopefully we get enough traction and players like Jamie want to stay on next year and play senior footy with us and take us up a division.”
Pearson said Whitehead earned his senior cap after watching him play in the under-16 Saints side in the weeks leading in to his debut and revealed he would give the developing player two more games with the seniors before sending him back to work on some aspects of his game.
“He can go back to his age group then and work on some things we identify with a bit more confidence,” Pearson said.

Correct. But only 10 years agoThe Carrara Saints?
Are they a new club?
Or was Mudgereeba rebranded as Carrara?
No mention of any Gold Coast players but a few did take part.
Correct. There are two Allies teams playing today against Vic Country and Vic Metro. Allies 1 defeated Vic Country earlier today and Allies 2 are playing Vic Metro now. If you're at the game, look out for Timakoi Bowie (indigenous small forward) and Dirk Koenen (tall defender). Emmanuel Baru, Ryan Gilmore and Lachlan McDonald are also Gold Coast academy players taking part in the game.

Exciting to see a bottom ager perform so well. Budarick is from Labrador and Helensvale High so hopefully this is the beginning of a wave of academy players from the northern GC and a second factory in Helensvale.
Connor Budarick
One of the Allies’ best in the first half, showed quick hands under pressure and buzzed around the stoppages. He showed good vision and was able to execute into space and change direction with his kick to hit a dart inside 50 to a leading teammate. Played in defence in the third term, once he threw it on the boot, the other time was a good long kick out of the back half.
Shows how long since I playedCorrect. But only 10 years ago
Actually, he may have as I was just throwing 10 up as a rough number, quite likely 12-15 years since the move was made.Shows how long since I played
Can't imagine that Dayne Beams was playing there then?
How old is he 28?
This one being broadcasted?Under 18 Champs start for Allies this weekend .
Allies play Vic Country in Sydney.
Five Suns Reps - Caleb Graham (FB) , Dirk Konenin (CHB) , Bailey Scott (HFF), Lachie McDonald and Ryan Gilmore named.
2 key position backs is great for the Suns Academy.
Not Sure - think its now at Blacktown - given NEAFL and AFL games are both at Spotless (they are worried 2 matches before the AFL would cut up surface to much because of rain).
