That is probably true. However, other than Josh Kennedy and NicNat, they don't have many players who would demand big dollars

I'd go as far as saying this offer from our 'rival' club doesn't officially exist except in the minds of people trying to sell papers. They're just guessing like they always do.

Not to say other clubs won't be chasing him, but they sure won't be conducting their negotiations through Damien Barrett. And I'm certain we won't, given how tight Freo have been lately about media leaks.

Yep! Wise words. We just don't know enough about why these individuals make certain decisions. Chasing money is not a bad reason either although the business of football tends to be years behind for a multitude of reasons.

Anyone got a problem with $700,000 locking him in for a bit longer?






As an aside I'm trying to watch TFS for Dank, Hird and Lyon by god it's hard work..... Just so much rubbish

700k is about right in a premiership side.

or 600k + 100k for All Australian Team + 100k for top 3 B&F

Ross said on the Footy Show last night that if it was up to him he would pay Nat Fyfe what ever he wanted to stay at the club. He said that it was his job to make a comfortable environment for the players to want to stay, however contract negotiations were out of his control and handled by others at the club.

Ross also mentioned Nick Reiwoldt and how other clubs were throwing the big bickies at him and he stayed at the Saints.

Nick Dal Santo was on the panel and Sam Newman asked Ross if they tried to get him over to Freo, to which Ross replied, "We thought about it, but we couldn't afford him."
