bloke is a out and out gun... just like danger for us... in two years time those two are gonna be 25ish and tearing the rest of the comp to bits. i hope sando and rossy lyon let them go head to head when we play each other. Would be awesome to watch.

I hope we don't overstate his abilities, only sets him up to disappoint. Rewatched the game his first qtr was quiet, subbed off in the third.

Last night was just a regular game for him. Its only getting noticed because people actually watched our game last night.

Along with Hill he was the driving force behind setting up our match-winning lead in the 2nd qtr though.

I think last night showed what a truly influential player he is - started up forward and we got pantsed in the midfield, but once they threw him back in there the whole game changed.

He played CHF in the first quarter while we were smashed in the midfield.

Im not taking anything away from Fyfey, his clearance work alone is second to none (gotta laugh at a fool on the Pies board who said he was overrated), just don't want a burden of expectation to accompany what is becoming a huge hype.

I would say Mundy is the bloke who time slows down for. Fyfe just has a great footballing brain and perfect timing, not to mention nice skills and high athleticism. And I think Nat Fyfe is the first Nat Fyfe; old Golden Boy is a figure I don't think too many players want to be pooled with...

yep Jim is damaged goods now.

Was reading through the Pies board matchday thread to get my weekly fix of schadenfreude and one of their supporters made a very perceptive comment:

"We have an excellent supercoach midfield. watching Fyfe impose himself on this contest is an eye opener on the difference."

What burden?

Simmo, Fyfe ain't injured!!! Surely tonight showed you that? Taken off as the game was won and he was blowing up.

RTB said in media that Fyfe was taken off due to niggling leg issue during pre-season. No point playing him when the game has been won.

Fyfe actually said in an interview that it was the plan to sub him out. He just didnt like it at the time.
