That isn't fair. Not everyone is born with the same brain. It's only the knobs who choose (key word) to be self obsessed and unempathetic, not those born that way.

Education is as much about the recipient understanding where someone's mind was just at as it is about the delivery.

This won't make much sense if you hold everyone completely accountable for how they make you feel regardless of what brought them into that interaction with you.

You can't expect everyone to keep their feelings in line. I don't have feelings, so I can look at things a tad more objectively.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Nat Fyfe, but I've seen driven people become so focused on the objective that they don't realise how their behaviour impacts others. Nothing malicious about it, just everyone reacts differently to a given situation.

TBH honest I'd be very surprised if there wasn't friction when you put 40 odd highly motivated, testosterone (all natural of course) fueled young blokes together.

Not a big deal, just one of many things that a footy club has to manage in the quest for success.

Tom Browne had Lachie Neale to North Melbourne, before Haggers too. Fact is no one knows but Fyfe and his manager what is happening but $1.5m he could get I suspect but if he stays it may be for $1.2m.

It looks like the salary cap will be around $13M for 2018. $1.5M is 12.5% of your cap. That means means there would need to be some sacrifice by other players to avoid having to gut your list. $1.2M sounds more likely.

Ballas will need to impress this year to get a decent offer. The rest might need to think about buying a lawnmowing round to supplement their income.

If someone makes an offer to Fyfe that we choose not to match (because it's just crazy), I understand we would get a first round compensation pick. Does anyone know if that's correct?

Ok... you guys know how much I love Fyfe. But seriously, if he wants to go for money, and is asking for stupid amounts, then just go in my opinion. Taking all the salary cap will just leave angry team mates, and leave nothing left in the kitty to improve the team.

NAT Fyfe’s close friend and former captain Matthew Pavlich says he would be “staggered” if the Fremantle free agent departed the club this year. But the player’s union president says players must continue to fight for free agency rights after as few as six seasons of service. Pavlich, who will this year make the move from 353-game footballer to Fox Footy commentator, remains a friend and confidante of Fyfe.

The Brownlow Medallist has huge interest in his services from clubs including St Kilda, which has salary cap room and draft picks should they need to force a trade. Fyfe’s manager Jason Dover said on Tuesday more serious discussions would start once the season got under way. He said Fyfe was not putting off talks until year’s end, with conversations between Dover and Fremantle weekly.

Pavlich said in his conversations with Fyfe it was apparent the versatile star saw the opportunity in front of him at Fremantle. “I don’t think he will (leave), knowing him personally. My view is that he will stay. He would be mad not to. He knows that and being a free agent, like I did on a few occasions in my career, you look at other options,’’ Pavlich told the Herald Sun. “I would be quite staggered if he left. I just know him quite well and as someone has had experience in playing at one club and that being Fremantle, the opportunities that has afforded me and my family were great. “I speak from experience, but also having conversations with him. So it’s an exciting time for him given the opportunities he can have.”

Fyfe’s manager Dover said all parties were content with where the contract was at. “We have said we would get through the summer and evaluate when the games are being played again,’’ he said. “We haven’t put it on hold until the end of the year. We are open, I talk to Fremantle every week. “We haven’t started negotiations and we haven’t stopped. There is no definitive timeline. He is contracted for 2017 so there is no great urgency.”

Under the current free agency provisions, a player becomes a free agent after eight seasons and an unrestricted free agent the first time they are out of contract after 10 seasons. But the AFLPA’s stance is players should be free agents at six years and unrestricted free agents at eight years. Pavlich says it is worth fighting for because the early seasons of free agency have not shown a trend towards players flooding to top-four teams. “The players believe it should be (earlier). There is evidence now to suggest what everyone thought at the beginning — the best players would go to the best clubs — isn’t the case,’’ he said. “There is no real pattern. They go to clubs down the bottom, in the middle and at the top of the ladder. “If you think about the players who didn’t get enough opportunity or aren’t getting the pay levels they would like to, eight years with one employer is a long time to be locked in. So why should it be different to players?”
