I agree he is going to be a gun.
Interesting to see Mazungai(?) in the pic with Fyfe at the 3k T/T.A couple of the boys at the meeting the other night said Mazungai was training very well and has been impressive.

Orsum.

He played a bit more in the middle than the story made out though? He got some good clearance numbers this year I thought.

He's definetly got that country feel to him and you can tell his head is screwed on right. Has a fair chance to be future captain, more so than Suban but there are so many players in our team that could be future captains. Barlow, Hilly, De Boer etc

Hilly is too soft spoken, fyfey is a better orator too :)

I mentioned in a pre season training thread how he was putting mile after mile into his legs in preperation for a more important mid role
He could become a clearance machine with his courage, great disposal and general footy nous
Could be the success story of 011

I hope Fyfe avoids second year blues... bulking up and increasing his endurance will certainly help to avoid that next season. He certainly is becoming a personal favourite..:thumbsu:

My thoughts exactly, he didn't look overawed in there, much to his current physical stature.

Many times I have had to tell people that Fyfe should not be thought of as a forward, that he is primarily a midfielder who can then float forward (and be extremely dangerous with his marking ability). Even last year he played mainly in the midfield/wing once he was established in the side, but people kept thinking of him as a forward.

Fyfe can play forward very well but he ain't no forward. You put players where they will do the most damage and Fyfe has got great a great kick on both feet, the ability to read the play and he's a ball magnet. With a fair bit more bulk he could resemble Lenny Hayes a bit as they are both listed at 186cm (All though Fyfe looks like he is taller).

I called it last year based on his first post draft interview. Ultimately despite how well he speaks he will need to continue to play well. I am confident he will be a very strong player for the club for many years. If not directly post pav, not long later. Capt Fyfe....

At the same time, he can take a pack mark in the forward 50, is a better than par shooter, and appears to have that magically creative goal scoring talent. He's a freak either way you look at it.....

Forsake his offensive creativity at our own peril.

Not all that sure about the Lenny comparison though.

The Lenny comparison? In terms of leadership - maybe down the track.

He's a proven winner down fwd, 6 goals in the colts GF. a couple of natural instincts come highlights this year too. One that could have been a goal of the round contender against the wiggles.
