Yeah, it was a $30,000 Class 3 race.

What was that race doing in the middle of a Saturday metropolitan program in Sydney?

They have been running Class 3s for months on the Saturday meets in Sydney. Just something ppl need to be aware of when looking at future references when studying the form.
That said they are generally good betting races & I would prefer that than the handicap consisting of a field of 6, that is often served up.

He does have plenty of ability but is still racing very greenly. And that was a poor field, too. But I'd expect him to be able to win a listed race or Group 3 or something along those lines.

Ran a class record and did it on his ear. Can't ask for much more than that at a horse's third start in a race.
