I propose a Gabba surveilance system. From all reports there are too many maniacs roaming the Gabba at any particular time, and this trend needs to be curtailed.

Incidents such as Mexican Waving, the wearing of cash registers as personal protection units, shoving felafel rolls up the noses of babies, and the concealing of air conditioning units in the front of pants are examples totally unacceptable behavior that are often witnessed at the Gabba.

Hopefully a Gabba surveilance system could put a stop to all this, once and for all!!!!

But often joshem 'harmless fun' as you call it has an affect on others.

For those on the field it would more than likely be:

1) Distracting - now we certainly don't want our players distracted while playing.

2) Rude - For them to put in all the hard work they do game in and game out, they must wonder why people bother to come to the football if they find the need to entertain themselves, rather than be entertained by the game itself.

Personally Joshem, I can't stand the mexican wave at the Gabba. I find it to be an insult to our players out on the field.

And since when is the mexican wave at footy games at the gabba a tradition?

Some idiot started doing it near the end of 99, then it has happened no more than 5 times (and that is 5 times too many IMO) since. So does approx 6 times out of 8 seasons full of footy at the Gabba make it a tradition?

cant remember too many waves myself - must have been watching the footy

would you also clasify booing the opposition & umpires rude & inconsiderate?

Oh dear.

Vanders, are you not old enough, or not intelligent enough to understand sarcasm (the lowest form of wit)?

My guess is both.

Actually, in this case the term 'sarchasm' applies. The 'chasm' refers to the wide intellectual berth between those who comprehend the humour, and those who don't

I think the mexican wave is a beautiful thing, its a visual splendour. But there is a time and place for it. Normally when there is a holdup.

Half time, before the start of play, at a point where something has delayed play. Not when there is football to be watched.
