Of the three, Blight Rayner's location is closest to Exhibition station and the Valley. The government one is closest to Roma St. All aren't far from busway stations.

From the council master plan, Blight Rayner's option goes across the community sport precinct and Gilchrist Avenue, Archipelago's goes across the wetlands and "education hub", and the government's goes across the "tree house" and part of the driving range.

They are correct in the location near the hospital is less hilly and closer to Exhibition station.
Agree that the stadium should be interrelated into the BCC masterplan for Victoria Park.

I just think it is too close to the Hospital, Herston Road, Bowen Bridge Road the roundabout with a carpark (800 bay) in the middle and bus overpasses cris crossing that area
In my opinion it would be just too much going on in that section to add a stadium.

Soil/ground testing most likely determines the location

The western end lends itself to doing something pretty unique incorporating the topography and partially sinking the stadium... which in turn reduces the visual impact of it.

Just because every other stadium is on a flat area doesn't mean this one should be too.
People comment about Adelaide Oval's unique boundaries. Imagine if the new Brisbane Cricket Ground made you hit uphill either side of the wicket!

Isn't Jake Anson's proposal of using the current driving range location in another location altogether?
Not 100% on Anson's preference, but I'm pretty sure that was the Quirk recommendation.

Isn't Jake Anson's proposal of using the current driving range location in another location altogether?
Pretty sure it is since it's a large section of open space within the park. Listening to him talk about Vic Park on the Roar Deal a few weeks ago, it has the potential to have entrances/exits at the top and bottom of the ridgeline with the oval sunk into the ground.
But, he also said the location would be largely dependent on environmental, heritage, cultural, etc. aspects.

Hi, I am trying to buy some tickets for some English friends for the GABBA test.

They would prefer not to sit in the sun. Are you able to tell me the best seats to buy for them, that it, what area of the ground.

Thanks

Cricket in the Summer, if it’s not p!ssing rain, there’s nowhere safe from the Sun.

(I’d try somewhere in the North West side of the ground)

That plan proves once and for all The Gabba was in fact to small.

I also want to complain that if that plan goes ahead their does not appear to be any room for water drinking fountains.

On the channel 7 news tonight. There was some sort of meeting on Olympics
Channel 7 used the middle image

SVP mentioned 58% of the park will be used.
Someone on the panel replied to SVP representative "you realize no plan has been put forward yet"

The new Exhibition station opens tomorrow in time for the Caravan & Camping Show.
It will only open for major events until CRR opens in around 2029.
Assuming it does not need an upgrade (which has been mentioned it needs) to cater for the Olympics.

I say build a new one.

Just saw that. Specific quote was by Jim McDonald MP: "You recognise though that there's no actual commited design for the project and there is an opportunity to maximise the green space in that design."

What I found more interesting than the Save Vic Park nonsense today is the Bar Association of Queensland said the Planning (Social Impact and Community Benefit) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill was likely to be tested in front of the Supreme Court.

If they are English, I'd be making doubly sure they are in the sun.
