Honestly, if he had of scored 60 I would have been ok with that as I traded him knowing that it could be the possibility. I had the cash available and would have used it on him sooner than later anyway. Thought I'd get in early as the potential rewards of having GAJ as a POD for a week or two outweighed a certain 50-100k two week price drop. I thought his game was better than the 124 points he scored. It should have been scored 140+ IMO, not that I'm gutted with 124.
I thought 124 was pretty fair. He was well held for about 30 odd points at half time, meaning he scored 90 odd points in the second half

He played forward for much of the first half. I would have liked him to have played in the guts for the whole game even though I understand their reasoning for him playing forward early. 21 possies in the 2nd half is very encouraging though.

It's interesting that people seem to be assuming that a 124 means that he'll now maintain something near his current value.

He's priced at an average of 135 odd, until he scores at least that he hasn't arrested his fall in price, has he?

His breakeven was over 200 and the 124 means he loses roughly 50K.

Next week his 126 from Round 1 drops out, the 87 and 124 mean that his breakeven will be about the same - slightly lower, still over 200.

If he scores 100-125 he'll lose another 40-50K, and be low-mid 600Ks.

That's 90-100K that will help another trade in coming weeks.

Gingy, credit to you for putting your balls on the chopping block but IMO you needed at least 140 from GAJ to ratify getting him in at 735K. More like 150 TBH.

Ingy, I agree with everything that you wrote. The most sensible thing that you and EVERYONE else can do is to wait until he has completely bottomed out before bringing him in! :):thumbsu:

I'm undecided who I want to trade him for. Selwood, Bontempelli or Goddard. After today I'm actually thining of ridding my team of any red + black staining. If I wait for GAJ to fall, the others are only going to be falling with him, so may as well bite the bullet now. I was set on giving the Bont the flick, but Goddard is such a cat that I think he might be the one to go.

Since I already traded him back in yesterday, I'm hoping he pumps out a 180 next week and bottoms out at 670k ;)
Nooooo, you can't be serious. B/E of 201 still.

Dumbfounded, even after reading the logic.

Dunno on some level it could be worth it. If he pumps out 180 and you win all your leagues. What's that 100k for a win?

Suppose it depends where you stand in your leagues and who your next opponent is.

I've got Sloane>Lambert money but I won't be using it this week.

Spud opponent in main league and my most tradeworthy player is Krak who now has a tiny breakeven and will fatten a little more if I let him. So I will.

Will get GAJ the following week if he gets 110+ and Krak is sub 100, both of which seem likely.

I think I'm gonna turn my Bonts into Ablett in a couple o weeks. A pretty common scenario I'd hazard a guess.

It was a 50k gamble at best and well worth the risk.

If he smashed out a 180, $680 is probably the bottom line and perhaps pricing himself out for many wishing/hoping for sub 600k in a few weeks.

I had gaj locked in last week before he pulled out. Spewing because I would've picked up McLean in the process.

I too am going to wait a week maybe two.

Pretty gun shy at this season after having Bartel, GAJ, rocky and sloane all get injured. Maybe that gypsy woman did put a hex on me?

I'm going to break a season record on the number of players that I have traded out of my team and then traded them back in

GAJ
Cripps
Bont

Bartel*
Sloane*
Rocky*
Heeney*

*might find a way back in at some point before the season is over.

Everyone hoping Picken turns into tag mode gives gaz a going over, please make it happen.

Bev doesn't play tags, hasn't all year. Even let Fyfe run free as he rather just back in our own players to win the ball.

I expect Gaz to go pretty big this weekend.
