That's nice. Got nothing to do with what's being discussed however.Remember how fickle people are... Gws had a good start, suddenly they were up there for flag favs, they lose to Collingwood and suddenly they are overrated...
We finish 5th last year with 15 wins and everyone thinks we will finish top 4, now we've played poorly and suddenly we are in dire straits and need a full rebuild
Yarran you say, hey, we have missed his drive of the hbfAmazes how many people think the CEO's job alone is just to raise money. Its also how he spends or invests it that matters and what we judge him by.
Benny has done a wonderful job on one side but a shocking job on the latter. Our investment in the football department is rubbish. We have wasted money on coaches, football managers, recruiters and havent landed a single marquee player. And Yarran.
Thats Benny's legacy.
Not everyone thought we would finish top 4. Plenty were saying we were grossly overrated, lacked enough quality, certainly lacked enough depth too much was left to too few and despite winning 15 games the most of which were ordinary we were nothing but a middling team and could just as easily miss the 8 as make it.Remember how fickle people are... Gws had a good start, suddenly they were up there for flag favs, they lose to Collingwood and suddenly they are overrated...

Thats one take on what people are saying. But you and i both know that is a deflection.Yeah, Gale has no idea and has not helped the club financials at all. He did not inspire, supporters to become members or pioneer new revenue streams like the below, that if it comes off, will set the club up financially well into the future while getting off the tit of gaming revenue.

Hope Gale pisses off. He is doing and has done nothing.

One key reason I dont Want BG to leave is we are entering. Possibly the most challenging period of his era. At ea other point it was all blue sky, . Right now , many people will need to be sacked and the place restructured. Not a job for the faint hearted , refer Ess and blooze as a step in the wrong direction can result in a complete **** up.

It really is a bit of two bob each way.
On the one hand Brendan is responsible for where we are at but on the other hand you want him around so we can restructure and sack a plethora of people.
Is he not also responsible for the need to restructure and sack or is he only responsible for the things that have worked.
It wouldn't reflect Well, BG is 10x the admistraror than he was a footballer , I suspect he will stay. Why, coz it has been on his watch that has seen us take a real dip in onfield performance and I don't believe he would like to leave it that wayWhat would it say if he did leave when the going gets tough? A bit like all those seasons he played in that we finished 9th

Yes he did , can't imagine though that that the MCG would have the same allure. It's a stadiumHope you are right. But then again he did also apply for the AFL job...
Nailed it, well done.I think people are looking only at what Gale has achieved rather than what he has failed to achieve.
I believe with his limited pressure on the FD in a RESULT/PERFORMANCE driven industry he needed to get more from them or to upgrade individuals bc of this notion of stability and complacency we missed out on many opportunities .
Job for the boys rather than paying for suitable or quality (professional) candidates
Now once 3-0-75 partially failed why didn't he come up with new goals kpis targets etc and get in staff to review where they had to get better?
Instead everybody was left to meander around and we are seeing the net product now
A failing team
A poor FD
No major sponsor
An incompetent board
A galah for a president
Dwindling attendances
Dropping off of memberships and revenue
Etc etc
Now if he was qualified skilled or competent in making these changes early in the scene (2013 before 3-0-75) we would most likely still be playing finals and possibly won a couple and imagine instead of 72k members we may have had 100k. Sponsors would have been knocking our doors down to be part of this great club. Yet Benny opted for stability over growth and we are now paying for this inactivity .
The potential loss in growth and assets that Gale's ineptness has cost us has been grossly underestimated .
We could have had more cash to buy into other ventures like these gyms , but instead we are just satisfied with what we have.
I hope they're budgeting for what they will not have next year.
It's not too late to make the changes Benny as we are still keen to start from three years ago to get back on track, but you'll need to be honest and raise the bar to professional standard especially in the FD .
He should be in the gun more than any other person for where we are today. His sloth had been rewarded with mediocrity as we handed the money over and he didn't upgrade the FD.Nailed it, well done.
Too many people pissing in this blokes pocket for what he has been credited with doing but they can't see where we are heading. Wow we made finals three years in a row but couldn't win one, nothing to get excited about in that. He didn't wipe out the debt, we did. He didn't sign up 75,000 times, we did. He is the CEO and in charge of this shipp. He would have been paramount in getting dimwits signature 12 months before his contract was due to expire. A contract blind Freddie can see was unwarranted. Short cuts that got us into the eight bug not enough to go further. He has failed to surround the coach with talented development coaches needed and instead is letting the coach run the show. Tail,is wagging the dog at this clusterf**k of a club. We haven't had one second round draft selection turn into a player under this coaches watch and the first round selections are even worse. Gale can head off and take his stability plan with him as far as I am concerned. It's the fans that will be left to clean up his mess once again.

We are awesome in developing talents but not where it matters on field. That's wrong. We've recently lost staff to the NBA in the US, Liverpool FC, Channel 7 and the Melbourne Storm on the basis of our off field performance and achievements. We are certainly developing talent, but face the archetypal risk of all sporting organisations in that it's hard to provide personal growth pathways in scare resource environments.
