If we would actually play him in the forward line, then we might find out.
Playing him down back really doesn't tell us anything.

Personally I think Gamble has loads of talent, and I'd like us to not delist him...he's a much better option than pick 75 odd in the weakest draft in recent memory. Having said that I think he'll be another one of those 'Geelong players on other AFL lists' in 2011.

Pure , I don't think we will get anywhere near P75. The Premier will get P25,P42,P59. I doubt we will use all three picks unless we are forced to, we will probably elevate a Rookie and use two. In fact between , Varcoe Jr , Pods , Ranga etc we have a bit of talent currently as Rookies.

It means we must make room for a min. of 3 heads on the list. Probables are Milburn, West, Gamble and Trade_X / GCoast_X

Other likely departures via retirement ?Scarlett, ?Rooke ,I would not be surprised. Would free up a lot of needed $$. Those 2 have given us every thing they have, is there another season? Doubt it muchly.

To be honest it's too early to say, both on the rookie elevations (once we get to round 20, we'll have a better idea of which and how many rookies deserve elevation), and on how many spots we need to make room for. We have 4 players 30 or over, and somewhere between 0 and 4 of them will retire, so until we know that, as I said to a friend the other week, it's hard to know about Gamble's contract future.

But yes, I do see your point that we may only go as deep as 42, and in that case Gamble might go. I was just saying that I'd rather us not use a late late pick (beyond 4th round) this year and delist someone in order to do it. Rookie elevation is a different equation.
