SUMMARY
The under-fire Giants pulled off one of this season's biggest upsets when they beat the Crows for the first time in Adelaide last week, and the Suns will need to find their own response after being mauled by the Cats in their return to Metricon Stadium. Leon Cameron's team was ferocious in laying 96 tackles against the Crows, with youngsters like Tim Taranto, Daniel Lloyd and Zac Langdon leading the way, and Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly and Dylan Shiel dominant around the footy. In contrast, Gold Coast laid just 41 tackles against Geelong and if it turns up with that lack of effort against GWS, it could be another ugly loss for the visitors. Gun forward Tom Lynch doesn't have a great record against the Giants and the star Sun needs to win his battle with Giant Phil Davis to give his side any hope of a positive result this week. After halting their four-game losing streak against Adelaide, the Giants will be keen to maintain their momentum ahead of their round 13 bye.

Wet weather footy today after soaking rain through the week. There were three games scheduled for Spotless today but the under 18 championship game has been moved to Blacktown. No doubt to protect the surface. The NEAFL game curtain raiser and the AFL games against the Suns remain. Sprinkling now but may clear somewhat at game time. Local forecast of a neighboring suburb:-

As for the game, the pressure remains on us after some poor recent performances. Coniglio out doesn't help but the Suns are down May and Hall as well, and the Suns have an awfully long season injury list as well.

Long term I still believe this will become a fierce rivalry game, but for today we need 4 points to go to the bye with 6 1/2 wins. It's a development year for the Suns but there's no point in us going into development mode or seeking high draft picks. Despite recent poor form our list is close to it's prime, and our salary cap maxed out.

Go Giants.

Will be a solid victory for giants. The bye next week means it should be easier to get up then it is for gold coast. Hoping for no injuries, we can still make top 4 if we play well enough.
