unbelievable, what a comeback from the Bombers

I didnt think the comeback was that brilliant as such.

They were always going to comeback - and i thought they were always going to win it...but i didnt think they would do it with 15 seconds left, i thought they would hit the lead with about 5 minutes to go. But Sydney kept strong and held out as long as they possibly could

They kicked out on the full about 5 times in the last 3 minutes - unacceptable at league level you would think.

Not the best comeback ive seen - but it was still good.

A great hard slog

Im upset that Essendon won :( , But im bloody rapt Sydney Lost (for the crows sake) :)

Who would of thought Alessio the outright biggest dud in the league would be the matchwinner! :p

Game of the year?

I didn't see the match because I was at the Coll v WB game at the G but according to the match report after the game it was a scrappy affair.

They also spoke about how bad the Sydney Swans game plan is to watch but how effective it is.

I can't help but think that three losses in the row may have given every team in the finals race the belief needed to win against the bombers and even hurt them psychologically. Now, it wouldn't surprise me if Essendon ended up not losing a game for the remainder of the season and win the premiership relatively easily. Just my opinion ;)

As for game of the year, surely nothing is going to rival the Essendon Kangaroos match in round 16.

It wasn't pretty. Sydney had the wood all day long. It was amazing only really becuase of the team we had running around compared to sydney who were at about full strength. I wouldn't call it game of the year.

Sainter,

In terms of spectacle it was poor, but in terms of excitement, and drama it was fantastic. Essendon played as bad as they have done for the last three years in the first half. We were terrible. But it just goes to show that if you never give up, and keep plugging away, you are always a chance.

Game of the year? Probably not. But it depends on what your definition of a good game is. Like I said, for pure drama, and excitement, it was right up there. For us, with so many players missing, it was a mighty effort, considering the first half.

It wasn't our best match of the year, but it was our best win for the year (if that makes sense)

No disrespect to Essendon, who have suffered injuries to several key players this year, but to label Sydney's team as full strength is ludicrous.

They might not have superstars the ilk of Carey, Hird, Voss, Koutoufides, Lloyd, etc. but their injury list is just about the longest in the league. That's why our 107 point loss last week was such an embarrassment, despite our own injury worries.

about full strength?

Barry, Doyle, Fitzgerald, Lewis, James, Warfe, Schauble and Stevens were all out injured that would make the first team!

Yeah...real full strength

Sydney got robbed on one of those. I think it was Dunkley who kicked it out to the wing and the ball landed flush on the boundary line - which should NOT be ruled out of bounds.

I wasn't complaining though. After Sydney's comebacks against us for 1 point wins in 96 and 97 i was happy for a bit of payback.

Game of the year I don't think so...the chances of Sydney playing in the game of the year are virtually zero with their game plan.

In terms of sheer excitement it would be right up there, but the Hawthorn v Carlton game probably tops it because the kick was after the siren, not just before it.

Essendon v Kangaroos, Bulldogs v Geelong and Adelaide v Collingwood were probably better games than yesterday.
