im a big fan of colour as you know. once the armies met it was difficult to differentiate between them. ok it was due to muddy conditions. but in lotr there was a clear delineation of coloured lines/uniforms.
nit picking.

Jon's army were asked to wear a clash guernsey but refused. Something about it going against their heritage or somethin'

Jon stuffed it.

If he hadn't gotten sucked in by dickface, they would've held back, as per the plans, and they would've taken minimal casualties until the Knights of the Vale came rolling in.

They were sweet, The Knights, bunch of champs.

Jon is a ******* bad tactician.
Don't know that he's a bad tactician. He knew he needed to make Ramsey's forces come to him...

His problem is that he's an emotional hot-head, who let his emotions rule his head. He knew the right tactics to use, and ignored them when he saw his younger "brother" in trouble. After that, his well thought out plan went completely out the window.

Dragons were sick - but I think it would've had more impact if they didn't hover; just flew across the entire fleet torching the entire ******* thing.
That's what I was expecting them to do. But what Dany did was much smarter. She destroyed a few, which forced the rest to surrender. In doing so, she instantly replaced the fleet she lost earlier in the series. She needs ships to get her army across to Westeros, so destroying them all was never going to be her objective.

No.........but I think he didn't want to beat him to death in front of his sister. Ramsey would have been executed.
I think this is an interesting point - Jon may have planned to ransom him or use him in another fashion; Sansa has gone rogue these days, she's just freestyling - I wonder if this will cause problems.

As far as the Bolton's go I'm not sure there's anyone out there who would actually ransom him, the Bolton's are all gone.

Yes i forgot about Grey Worm... was the first brutal skilled move we have seen from him or an unsullied
First time we've seen any on-screen evidence of any military skills at all from an Unsullied. Considering they're supposed to be one of the world's elite fighting forces, they've been woeful and pathetic in every previous military engagement they've been involved in.

Would of there been any reason for Jon wanting to keep Ramsey alive?
To torture him, make him suffer. Although I think Ramsey would've welcomed that, he loves that sort of shit.

Getting beaten to death and then eaten by his hounds while Sansa watched on was a perfect way to do it.

Great ep but Hardhome still no. 1 for me. Would have like Jon not to get sucked in by Ramsay so easily but as someone mentioned he's still a bit emotional when it comes to family so suppose I could buy it. +1 for where da fuq is Ghost. Not that he should have been in the battle, not the go for a direwolf but at least have a shot of him at camp with Jon beforehand or something. RIP wun wun :(

Bit of discussion earlier in the thread about why Sansa didn't just tell Jon that Littlefinger was on the way (or she hoped so at the very least) - where did consensus land on the reasoning there?

Mereen stuff was great too, Drogon is ****ing huge. After 6 seasons finally Dany looks to be moving in the right direction.

Yeah assume he will be one of the main big bads for the remaining seasons. I dunno though, the actor just doesn't do it for me, too light/not threatening enough or something.

internet is a buzz with questions of teleporting.

i read last night whilst lying in bed an online article about the sudden appearance in mereen of yara and theons crew. lets think about it. from the iron islands, head south along the west coast, track east at the end into slavers bay. a long way, even if they had perfect conditions.

Re: the iron born, the real head scratcher is how they managed to get from the Iron Islands to Volantis in all of 1 episode. Volantis to Mereen is fine, just around the corner by comparison.
