I get the tears. They read the book series under the impression it would be finished. Now it probably won't be finished and the TV is giving away the meat and potatoes. But it hasn't gone from being A+ to D-. That's bitter talking.
So instead of blaming the GRM they blame the writers and latch onto anything that doesn’t meet their high standards?

Like I said if GRM material was perfect and so easy to adapt then Knightflyers would had been a big of a hit as GOT.

There’s been no acknowledgement but the books readers on how well the show has been done by HBO

No... but it has gone from A+ to C+ (B- for a good episode).

To be fair to the writers, the show gets so heavily dissected and hypothesised upon there's no possible twist left that someone, somewhere hasn't already theorised.

The impact of Jon's parentage reveal was definitely one example ruined by the internet.
Looking back now there were clues to it, the fact that Ned was relieved that Jon wanted to be a man in Black which meant he would never be a danger to robert

But the show portrayed it as a relief that he would never challenge the other Stark kids.

But you are correct the book readers keep shouting spoilers and being smug campaigners about the direction of each characters and plot points...I say it’s karma watching them whine about the show ending before the books.

Hypothetically - people would follow him because someone needs to sit on the Iron Throne and its manifestly clear to all and sundry by now that Cersei needs to go. As a Targ he actually has the best claim via lineage to the throne, which would assist him in recruiting support amongst houses and individuals to whom that sort of thing matters - much in the same way that people were working behind the scenes to support Viserys and then Dany. People actually are supporting Dany because of her lineage, Varys being the main one. Her fighters, no, but she wouldn't even have them and be in the position she is without machinations that saw her married to Drogo in the first place, and that was all done in the name of restoring a Targ to the Iron Throne.
Why would being a Targ help with attracting the other houses compared to being a stark? The other houses revoluted against the Targs. They hate them.

Jon is very different to the other Targs in that he has been raised a Stark and has proven himself to the other houses to be loyal and a leader.

It’s not his priority right now and I doubt it’ll head in that direction given there’s only a few episode left , but if Jon wanted to he could raise more support from other houses than what Dany could for his claim.

Most of us havent read the books. But we can tell clearly where the quality has declined.
Lol the whinging has been because people like you aren’t please with where the show has headed to

So you whine and whine and whine

And yet you still watch it

Much like your whining and sooking on the Geelong board and yet you still watch the team despite all your negative complaints

Nobody here predicted it. If something happens and you don't like it, it still happened.
True but it wasnt very big. It didnt make you go wooh this changes everything and it came from nowhere.

As soon as the dragon went down we knew he was going to be a dragon zombie. There was no wow moment when they were pulling him up with the chains as we already knew it would happen. Plus a dragon zombie isnt really that much of a big deal.

But you just did with your observation you confirm what others were arguing about

That NK can control a skeleton, I got no idea why you’re arguing the point when you have confirmed it yourself
I think you completely missed the fact my post was a joke. Or you're just arguing a point for the sake of it.

I didn't confirm anything even if it wasn't a joke. It isn't my place to be able to do so. I've just asked questions about what is and isn't possible and clearly stated earlier in the thread I have no idea how 'zombies' are meant to work.

However let me indulge you.... controlling a skeleton that was raised fresh upon it's death initially isn't the same as raising a skeleton that's been thousands of years dead.

**** me people get worked up over this shit :drunk:

Any chance the NK is defeated but not killed, and simply has to retreat back North where they go back to another long hibernation like last time?

Maybe they capture Bran, and take him with them, its Bran they want more then any other person.
I get the feeling that Bran is the next NK

That is why Bran says ' he is coming for me' . As someone said balance is required. Bran as the NK retreats (dragged by Hodeador) and starts building his dead army again , 1 Craster baby at a time

I'm going with Jon as Azor Ahai.
I think something is going to cause Dany to flip out completely and have her own "burn then all" moment. My guess is Drogon and Rhaegal take down Viserion but Drogon is fatally wounded

Jon will come to the realisation that although he loves her, she will destroy everything they are fighting to save. His only option will be to plunge Longclaw I to her chest, unknowingly fulfilling the profecy and creating Lightbringer.
Epic final showdown with Night King ensues.

Definition of twist changes to whatever suits you. Reminds me of someone on the NFL board saying it's not a fumble when you're stripped of the ball.

Yeah, that takes my guess a little further then I thought out myself, but makes sense, besides the obvious 'not Crasters' babues, but I get what you mean.

It’s a bit odd to be watching something that you find so much negativity in, like watching the cats win and then posting all the negatives despite winning on the team board.

I just don’t get the negative mindset and the need to watch something that I have stated I don’t like or has declined in quality and then go online and bag it out.

I watched 2 seasons of TWD and it wasn’t for me despite all my mates loving the show, I didn’t continue to watch it so I could turn around and tell them how shit it is.

Loved the books.

I was invested, I threw the book accross the room when reading the Red Wedding, was livid for a few hours, picked the book up and finished it that night.

But I will admit, I am more invested in the show. Love it. There has been no TV show like it ever.

Waiting so long for each book to come out has turned me off the book experience, there is only so many times you can read them again just before the next book comes out.

I still do question the show on a few things, but they have done a great job overall.

Which brings us back to the point I was making - the writers haven't come up with a single twist since leaving the books behind. Jon's lineage was heavily foreshadowed in the books, so it certainly doesn't count as a twist created by the writers.
As I said, they're working within the plot points GRRM has provided them. Dunno what you expect them to do - as they get closer to the end, not much room for anything shocking, unexpected and plot-related that hasn't come direct from the source.

Anyway, you don't consider the undead dragon to be a twist?
