I could imagine some people on here trying to argue the Red Wedding wasn't a twist if it came post-books.

What? The Boltons have always been evil, they have a flayed man on their banner ffs! And Rob betrayed Frey by not marrying his daughter, he should have expected revenge was coming. It was so obvious if you look at all the signs.
Imaginations are real. They are usually strawmen

She is the most likely giant eagles for this battle.
Well if Beric flaming sword is anything to go by they might be able to bring the kind of boom needed to waste a bunch of undead.

They have their own army and a bunch of priestesses to bring. Not sure we see the army though. How do you sneak one in that far unoticed.

^^This. It's all been mapped out to the showrunners by Martin, there was an article posted in here awhile back that said

that there were 3 'holy shit' moments to come when he spoke to them. One was Hodor, one was Jon's true parentage, and the other is yet to happen.

That was that nuffie Jarryd Hayne fan though. :$
Um Cersei is going to play a major role in the shows conclusion. Maybe the most important. She wont in the books. So they are making up large parts of the story themselves. Plus if Martin actually knew how his story would finish beyond a couple of basic plot points he would of released another book by now. They will be making up 80 plus per cent of it.

As far as battle tactics

Jorah Mormont.

I get the feeling that after his talk with Little Bear and Sam giving him his family sword he's going to go down valiantly.

Bring him back in from the outer with the Mormont family and go from a zero to a hero in the families history.

Although if Little Bear and the 62 die there's no Mormont Army left.
A mormonts going down. 50-50 as to which one though.

Why does anyone care which Targ has claims to the throne? Didnt the Targs lose all claims to the throne when the 7 kingdoms revoluted and murdered the Mad King? Isnt the true heir to the throne now a Barathoen bastard putting Arya in a prime position to be queen?
Probably been commented on but he has little to no claim as a bastard. If he was legitimised as a Baratheonhe would have a much stronger claim. But I think at this point the 'might rules' philosophy is how it will go. Cersei has named herself queen with not claim or right and whoever takes it from her will rule.

This is my point. Power rules. Who gives a sh*** about Jon being a Targ. Its irrelevant. Lineage doesnt matter during war times.

Well it does matter if you're attempting to get support from other houses.

There would be houses who might be tentatively supporting Cersei but if they learnt of Jon's lineage might switch their armies allegiances to him. Far more so if he's not known as a bastard.

I think she needs to survive.

Maybe even become the ruler of the north if a bunch of Starks die and Jon becomes king.
I hope she dies a horrible death and acts like a whimpering little child.

She was cool at one point but now is just an annoying brat like Joffrey without the pyscho murderous tendencies.

Want Jorah to reclaim his house. That would be poignant and give his story a fitting end.

Jorah is a friendzoned bitch.

He deserves to die and have his man card revoked.

Correct me if I’m wrong but only the family/father can legitimise a bastard.

No chance if that happen with Robert being dead.
Stanis was going to legitamise Jon if he had the Starks join his cause. So I'd imagine royalty could do it too.

Why would being a Targ help with attracting the other houses compared to being a stark? The other houses revoluted against the Targs. They hate them.
Wasn't it more of hating the Mad King? I thought the Targs were well liked prior to him going crazy...

True but it wasnt very big. It didnt make you go wooh this changes everything and it came from nowhere.

As soon as the dragon went down we knew he was going to be a dragon zombie. There was no wow moment when they were pulling him up with the chains as we already knew it would happen. Plus a dragon zombie isnt really that much of a big deal.
The wall still exists without the zombie Dragon!

Says who? Unsure why you'd think the tv vs book plot would differ re: one major character but not others.

So they are making up large parts of the story themselves. Plus if Martin actually knew how his story would finish beyond a couple of basic plot points he would of released another book by now. They will be making up 80 plus per cent of it.
Even more evidence he needs to take time to figure stuff out and stitch everything together while preserving the characters and quality that you say has been missing from the show over recent seasons. As mentioned, that's a luxury a TV show can't afford.

I've said it a heap before, but worth remembering this story was considered un-filmable for years before HBO had a crack. Was a small miracle that they were able to put such a great product on-screen while they had source material to draw from - any wonder in a story this complex that there are a few stumbles when that source material is not available? The creator of the story himself can't even figure out how to progress let alone end the thing in the medium he chose for it. The fact that its been able to continue and conclude on TV in a reasonably coherent fashion is nothing short of a spectacular effort by all involved.

No. They spent the entire episode yelling at us through a loudspeaker, telling us that it was going to happen.

Wight (as distinct from White Walker, which a lot of people seem to confuse). Unlikely, as Jon won't be in the crypt. It will probably be Arya fighting the undead Starks in the crypt, given what we've seen in the trailers.
The Lightbringer prophecy... any chance it could relate to someone killing a Wight?

Lyanna maybe coming to life, and Jon having to kill her?

Or is it specifically 'lover' - not 'loved one' ??

Bonus, Dany tries to mount Rhaegal at the end and he refuses, only allowing Jon.
From memory, dragons live for hundreds of years and will have multiple riders but only ever one at a time. So if Drogon dies Danny is now the step-mother of dragons and Jon the daddy.

You win!

Do you ever wonder why the great GR Martin himself can't finish the books???
Game of Thrones author George RR Martin has explained why he does all his writing on an obsolete disk operating system (DOS) computer - because itdoes not correct his spelling. ... The writer of the books on which the TV series is based first revealed he used the archaic system in 2011.
Because the fat clown is using a computer from the ******* 90s.

this week, the Hawks!

Re episode length. On Foxtel's tv guide it says that next week's episode runs from 10:30am-12:05pm (Adelaide time). The previous weeks it's been 10:30-11:30am. Of course there's a few ads on each end
Ergo my day will be like this

7am - 10.30am as normal
10.30am -5.30pm no internet
5.30pm - 6pm Pirate Bay
6pm onwards - flow my tears, the policeman said
