Not the Elves, the Rohirrim. Which they already did with the Battle of the Bastards.
Uh, no, he's right. Elves turned up at Helm's Deep (but not in the books), Rohirrim turned up at the Battle Of Pellenor Fields (in both book and film)

They Rohirrim did fight in both battles, and definitely turned the tide at Helm's Deep. However, they didn't turn the course of the battle at Pelennor Fields (book or movie), which was still being lost until the arrival of Aragorn in the Corsairs' fleet.

Just with the raising of the dead in the crypts. Two things:
1) the crypts themselves are heavy stone, and unlikely to be just popped open
2) the bodies inside wouldn't have weapons to speak of, so how much damage can they really do?
Those buried in the crypts have a sword on their lap (The statue that is) to ward off bad spirits or something like that. So if this happens there would be a number of swords available to either side.

Without the Elves, the Rohirrim don't matter; the battle is lost a lot earlier.

Either way, no need to be pedantic arseclowns; pretty obvious what I meant.
They managed just fine before the movie was made, that whole battle is about two and a half pages long in the book. No elves required, except that one - obviously.

Regarding the crypt. It was so unsubtle that part of me hopes it's a fake out.

But it won't be. Ned without his head won't rise.

I'm surprised the NK doesn't catapult dead soldiers into fortified areas and let them fight and kill as many inside as possible, perhaps even secretly at night. Then raise them all again for round two and on and on until the castle realises a third of their population is unaccounted for.

Then they break out as the army is attacking from outside.

Pffft

HBO are imo the best tv show makers in the business, they have a long list of tv shows to prove that claim imo
I'm expecting to hear HBO paid Martin extra to hold release of his books once the show caught up because they know they would lose fans from deviation too far where as now nobody knows what the books says and first story out is fact.

True but it wasnt very big. It didnt make you go wooh this changes everything and it came from nowhere.

As soon as the dragon went down we knew he was going to be a dragon zombie. There was no wow moment when they were pulling him up with the chains as we already knew it would happen. Plus a dragon zombie isnt really that much of a big deal.
It gave them the ability to tear down the ******* wall. How much more of an impact do you want the twist to have lol.

The TV show is great (amazing really) but I'm still longing for the books. Even a show as magical as GoT can't live up to the books (although in this case it's ******* close). But the book material and the depth of information and dialogue is amazing.

Like the Red Wedding and your reaction.... I was gob smacked. I honestly can't recall ever reading something and having my mouth open in shock throughout however many paragraphs/pages that took to unfold. I read it.... then had to re-read. "WTF just happened". So amazing to be able to so transfixed by the written word.
Actually inclined to disagree. The books have become incredibly bloated, and in a lot of places you can tell GRRM just doesn't care anymore. When he wrote the History of Westeros book or whatever it's called, he gave a Lord and his son the names Kermit and Elmo because he could for shits and giggles.

No one knew that was necessary at the time. Could of just started a fire to burn it down. Most of us just thought the white walkers were lazy and taking their time.
Huh? The wall was infused with magic. You serious?
