Things look to be on the improve with our team defense . I am seeing a few more of the leaders working harder on a few areas including Zack who has been pushing back and finding a man more often than not rather than watching the play. The thing that is hurting us the most right now is giving up scores from turnover. We are the 4th or 5th worst side for scores against but it has more to do with how many points we concede on turnovers than actual poor defense .

Also well down the list for contested marks.
Watching us kick it down the thoats of the Cat's defenders was painful to watch.

A bit more composure when 70m or so out would be great, even if it's a sideways kick to open up new angles or something. Having a few more kegs on Jones so he can compete better in a congested forward 50 would probably help a bit too.

Watching our forwards leading patterns can be panful as well. How many times do they all end up at one point.

Is that just because the midfield has just lobbed a high kick inside 50 and every player within the arc has time to converge under the ball?

Not every time. There was one in the second quarter where Langford had a free kick and Wright ran straight down the leading lane with his back to play to end up in the same spot as Hooker. Harry is the only one who knows how to lead up at the footy in the right way but often he is covered by two or three players when he does.

Best way to avoid turnover goals is to stop the shallow entries and entries that go into open territory. Comes back out at a rate of knots

Argument to be made we’re better off focussing on kicking it where it can’t be readily rebounded and relying on strong tackle pressure from there.

Need more crumbers for that too

Not sure that’s the case, more guys that can stick tackles and win ground balls like Snelling.

I mean, more great kicks as well, can never have too many good kicks, but also more hard nuts.
