Oxenfree and Inside both on sale at the moment, no excuses :D

Keen to hear your thoughts on both.
Oh man, a bunch of games I've been looking at on sale.

I hate you, but also love you. But also hate you.

if anyone on PS4 hasn't played the newest Tomb Raider then do yourself a Molly Meldrum.

It's ******* awesome. I expected UC4 lite, but instead got a game I'm actually enjoying far more, thanks to the RPG elements that take it off rails a little bit more

Every time I log in to my PS you're playing that game I've noticed.

Is Abzu worth getting?

And has anybody played Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness? Looks alright. Don't know anything about the anime so don't know if that's going to be an issue. Down to $35 on the PS Store. Just going to randomly tag some people that I think may have played/heard of it, haha: kangle4 Firestarter beta_condition

It's one of those anime that is way too heavy for me. Sorry I can't help.

Abzu is apparently worth it if you really enjoyed Journey and want something similar.

I've seen the anime but not played the game, if you're after that sort of game it wouldn't be the worst game assuming the quality crosses over.

Abzu is definitely in the Journey camp of an experience more than a game. It's probably one of the most visually gorgeous games I've ever played but there's not a whole lot to it.
Yeah pretty much as expected. For ten bucks you can't really go wrong though. Thanks.

So I've gone from taking a break from games after finishing Horizon to buying five games off the store just because they're on sale. Classic me.

Bit late now but I agree with what the others said anyway. If you like Journey and it's only $10 you might as well give it a crack.

Not sure on the other one sorry.

Anyone know any PS4 alternatives to State of Decay? Have played Dying Light, which is the usual recommendation. Just wanted to know if there are any other similar S.O.D/Day Z similar games for PS4

Quoting myself, but looking through the PS Store, there is a game called "7 days to die" which kinda looks like (a poor graphiced) version of what im looking for at $15. Anyone played it and able to give a yay or nay?

Got through Inside. Nice little game. Very unsettling, haha. I do think it was a tad short though...I know it's a balancing act with that sort of game to make sure it doesn't become tedious but think they went a little bit too far back the other way with it.

Played a tiny bit of Oxenfree and...well, don't know what to think so far. The overlapping dialogue is doing my ****ing head in and the puzzle aspects seem a tad unintuitive so far, but it has potential. Need to play more.

I almost feel like the best way to play oxenfree is in one go at night in the dark

It's a little different I like that not responding is an option.

I also like that it's a bit left field with the problems makes you feel like the main character does

I bought Oxenfree and Abzu today because of this thread...I hate this thread. :(

I recommend playing Jackbox Party Pack 3 (available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and coming soon to Nintendo Switch). I would recommend connecting it to a TV if anyone gets the PC Version. I'll try my best to explain the game.

So basically it's a collection of 5 local multiplayer party games. So you invite a bunch of friends over (everyone has to be in the same room) but instead of using game controllers they connect to a website using their phones (so you'll have to connect your console/pc and everyone's phone to wi-fi/mobile data). The standout mini-game is "Quiplash 2", which is basically like cards against humanity but everyone makes their own answers to the questions.

Considering that you need all players to be in the same room and that I'd recommend having 4+ players, people should wait for the game to be on sale before buying it. Also worthwhile for people to check out the details, videos, photos and reviews on the Steam site to see if they would enjoy this game. I can see this game being popular on the Nintendo Switch when it releases because of how easy it will be to bring over to a mate's house.

Polished off Oxenfree earlier tonight. I did enjoy it, but not as much as I expected to.

Navigation/traversal was tedious to the point where it detracted from the experience for me. Dialogue was beautifully written and conveyed but its insistence on making you choose your next line before the other characters had finished talking and forcing you to cut off half their dialogue in order to get a word in really lessened its impact. The "puzzles" felt largely samey after the first one. I wandered around like an idiot trying to figure out how to move on the first time but I wasn't really challenged at all from there on.

It's still a good game with some very obvious strengths but it didn't quite meet the expectations I had for it.

At any rate, I plan on getting the platinum so I'll have a few more opportunities to immerse myself in it and appreciate its depth.

Persona 5 or Nier Automata as my next game, help.
Can't go wrong either way, comfortably my top 2 if I did a GOTY list now. Probably comes down to time commitment, Nier will take around the 40-50 hour mark if you do all 3 paths, Persona is closer to the 100 hour mark. Nier probably just edges it out for the superior story.
