Didn't Masten do his ankle? Did he play out the game or hit the pine?

Freo played as a team and for each other.

Eagles played like individuals, the effort was there and we did kick goals in every quarter but as a team we were non existent.

We need to learn to block and sheppard for each other, I saw on several occasion we ran up field and players had the choice to run alongside waving our arms for a cheap handball recieve or protect your teammate wih a block sheppard. We didn't support each other and got caught by the tackling / chasing pressure.

We have allot of work ahead and need to cull players young and not so young.

And FFS can we learn to switch the play across the HB line without turning it over for easy goals.

I'd take LeCras over any of your players tbh.

You'd kill for Kennedy. You can't play Crichton and Bollenhagen as KPF's.

Kill for Kennedy?

We've got Kep, and reliance on KP's isnt really our thing, we prefer to be mobile and have 30 scoring shots a game :thumbsu:

Gotta be honest, freo trolls criticising LeCras defensive workrate can piss off, he kicked 40 odd percent of our score today. I dont give a flying **** if he doesnt tackle as much as joe blow, he's easily the best mid size forward in the league irregardless of that, made your defence look comical at times.

I question the intent of the following players.

Lecras
Brown
Stevenson
Masten
Ebert
Cox
Embley
Lynch

I'll start with Lecras, he a fantastic finisher, a class ball user and the only player close to being elite. However, he does not work hard the other way, it looks as though he has excused himself from doing the hard stuff the other way simply because he's the chief goal scorer.

There was a particular passage today where Critchon started a passage of play, handballed over Lecras and ran on, now Lecras had two options, to attack the new ball carrier or run with Crichton to cut off his run, he did neither, Critchon got the ball back and had a paddock in front of him, he carried the ball and then drilled it onto Pavs chest.

That's pathetic. Whether you are the first pick or last, thats taking short cuts.

Brown is slow, he pulls up to contests, as best illustrated in the Deboer contest which resulted in a Bollenhagen goal. I know he's young but when it's your turn to go, you go. He took the soft option.

Stevenson was very vanilla, outside, didnt want to put his body on the line and seemed a little unerved by the extra physical pressure, his disposal was off.

Masten has fallen off a cliff. He looks slow, doesnt work hard enough, was he injured, honestly doesnt look AFL standard at the moment.

I think the game has passed Cox, he seems too slow, always whinges at the contest and has lost that run and carry that defined him. Would never have thought I'd be offering this as a suggestion, move him on. Past it, not apart of your future and he looks like he doesnt care.

Embley is all elbows and knees, and shit handballs at his teammates feet. What a dog this bloke his, just wanted to go the biff, went at Mundy twice with knees and Elbows, loved Mundy's response, had the binocs on him, "over the hill"

Lynch is a ****ing crab.

Sorry, but unless there are some drastic changes, a cull similar to Freo a season or two ago it's going to be a very bleak era for West Coast.

Good post

You have a point.
However, that's why Ballantyne is so valuable

I would kill to have Ballantyne in our forward line; we have a similar player in hams who has the nippy and defensive aspect down, just doesnt have the same goal sense. I like Hams better as a bloke (Balla is a dick of the highest order), but frodo's combination would be an asset to any team.

Our pressure as a whole was shocking this week.

Balla and Hams in our forward line wouldn't be too shabby.

You guys do know that if Tarrant hadn't have gotten injured you would probably be at Subiaco Oval right now waiting for a goal to be kicked? He had kept LeCras to 1 kick up until his injury. Yes, LeCras is a good player, but I would take Barlow, Hill, Sandi and Pavlich over him every day of the week.

Yeah, worked for the Bulldogs.

Lolwut?

LeCras will still be All Australian when Sandi and Pav retire. Barlow may join him one day, and Hill hasn't shown anything to the 12 goals a game level.

Question to Eagles fans.

Who do you think was BOG?

Ballantyne, or Mundy probs.

Fyfe should've won it. Was BOG in the first qtr when Freo won it and had a solid rest of the game.

Yeah, worked for the Bulldogs.

Pav's got years left in him, Houghton looks promising, dont get me started on Sibasaodo :thumbsu:

Hill, as declared by Gerad Healy, has the potential to be the best player in the game. :thumbsu:

Ballantyne, or Mundy probs.

Had to be Ballantyne.

I disagree with the Tarrant beating LeCras comments, the ball went into the forward line tops of three times, with at least one direct turnover. Tarrant went off, and then as it happened we suddenly made a decent midfield clearance or two. You didnt really get to see Tarrant taking on LeCras i felt.

You're putting your hopes on a rookie pick backman who has only started showing something this year, as a key position player?

Lol Gerard Healy. I guess he knows about paint, but besides that he's got shit for brains.

Sound bitter mate.

Always next year :)
