I just want to say how impressed I was with Reimers tonight. He showed some real polish. Fantastic effort from the kid.

Ditto. Looks like a lock for a while I'd say, and his hardness around the ground impresses me. Houli was ok tonight, his disposal is very nice and he's able to find the ball a lot, but still not running hard enough for my liking and seems to be spectating a bit too much.

Slattery was useless, Lonergan was good up until his injury, McPhee was good again without being dominant, Rama played well off the half back line, NLM was a bit rusty but should play himself back into form, Davey impressed with his defensive pressure as usual and credit goes to him for his great running goal, Stants ran hard and did his thing but seriously lacks a defensive side to his game, Spike has stepped up to the plate and stamped himself as a leader of the pack, and the rest were mainly serviceable at best.

To say the longer break is needed this week would be an understatement, and hopefully we have enough payers to choose from come selection time.

The stat that really cost us tonight, fumbling....

Yep, I've noticed this he past two weeks.

Especially during centre clearance when we get first hands on the ball.....we aren't clean enough and cough it up.

Carlton got a number of breaks last week because of this and it happened a few times tonight.

Watson is the only player that can win the ball in the centre without fumbling.

I wonder what he said to Aker when he was trying to belt the shit out of him:D Love his agression and showed some real promising signs

Kyle is 1 of my favs! The way he put Judd on his ass last week was awesome! Typical Judd looks at the umps wondering why he didnt get a free cos he is a protected specie.

The negative of having such a quick side these days is not having the strong bodies to bust through the packs and/or hold their ground when in possession in tight situations. This combined with inexperience is what I think a major contributor to our struggle for clearances. I guess we will have to be patient and improve over time, or someone needs to step up and become an in-and-under hard ball get type instead of spectating on the outer.

Lovett needs to put his head over the ball, he shirks when there is anyone around and just gets battered in the middle.

Hille played really well, especially around the ground but why does he have jump early EVERY time?

Ryder and McVeigh have been our most consistent this year - McVeigh's injry really really hurts.

Was really impressed with Lonergan (again)

Slattery was horrible, just horrible. Injuries are clearly the only thing keeping him in the side. If he was a good stopper than his complete lack of attacking game would be somewhat warrented, but he is not.

Pears did some good things, he certainly has some great awareness, although I don't think he's quite ready.

We were always going to get run of the top of, I was actually really impressed that we were leading at 3/4 time.

Its taboo to criticise Hille around here, the sun shines out his ass on Essendon's board. They only remember his play around the ground! I agree with you 100%... and its EVERY game he does it.

Having said that I thought the 2nd half was probably the best he's rucked since about round 7 last year (the WCE game).

Hille was smashed in the ruck, all you are remembering is around the ground. Hudson had 22 hitouts and Minson 8, compared to Hille 10 and Laycock 8. Hudson is also a leader in hard ball gets. Hille found space and got cheap kicks on his own. He needs to do more in the ruck.

Perhaps I agree with you, I won't admit it as I'm trying to stay positive from now on in BF.

P.S. Can't time jump in ruck... err... I couldn't help it!
