Rucci bringing up the JJ ‘poster’ from Showdown 45 in his article in the rag today. Using the excuse to boost Hinkley’s record against Pyke to say it should be 2-5 not 1-6. If only there had been Snickometer sensors :drunk:
So he’s happy for a player to overrule the umpires?
He’s spews out propaganda that Goebbels or Trump would be proud of.

If the midfield played bad imagine what the rest of the team played like

Best players

Seedsman, M.Crouch, B.Crouch, Sloane, O'Brien

Did you watch the game or are you referring to the best players list?

Our midfield was on top early and then they spanked us and that’s when they turned a 20 point deficit into a 30 point win.

We had 23 less inside 50s and similar inside 50 efficiency.

So blaming the forwards is simplistic when the ball wasn’t getting in there and it’s the midfields job to get the ball to them. Oh and your mate Douggie who played half forward/mid role.

No one but mids made the best players they can't have been that bad

This x 1000

Midfields control the game. When our midfield is in control, we have great ball movement with speed and intensity. Our delivery is very precise and we run in waves by getting the outside players involved.

When our inside midfield are not switched on, Atkins, Smith, Milera and seedsman fall out of the game.

In modern day foot, the midfield is the key to winning and losing.

Port vs Geelong at the Adelaide Oval, they smothered Selwood and Kelly they had control. We let them run around like a loose dog. Last week vs the Western Bulldogs, the Bont killed Port Adelaide.

I like how we have chosen the indigenous guernsey for todays game. We must have some inside info that forced PA to wear an away guernsey. !:0 to us so far.

Was it the defence not rebounding well enough as they do provide forward entries remember

Oooh that's right laird and Smith played bad

Surprise surprise

Smith and laird have traditionally provided and enormous amount of attack and have been playing poorly it's not all mids

That’s totally irrelevant. That’s our best players list. We lost the game. We didn’t have 22 awful players.

The point is, if the midfield unit wins their spot, that goes a long way toward winning the game.

Marty I can’t argue with you anymore, you are doing my head in.

You made a comment it came down to the forwards, but the forwards need supply. If our mids aren’t delivering the ball it’s very hard for the forwards to get in the best players.

How many times have you heard the game is won in the midfield? That’s because the midfield is the key.

Anyway, enjoy the Showdown.

No one is saying they played well.

Have you not seen the change in our game plan from a team that relies on rebounding to a team steadily moving the ball forward?

But the point remains the same, the ball wasn’t getting in there hence the forwards can’t be the key if the ball isnt getting in there.

Smith and laird don't provide forward entries and attacks

Ok then

Most teams rely on a couple of players out of the back line being creative laird and Smith are clearly ours or maybe milera when he plays there

Smith and laird are having poor years I don't think the mids is the problem as proven where most of them played well last week

Smith and laird didn't

What is the first point of call after every stoppage?

A ball up or a throw in.

The midfield then have to win the contest to control the game.

If the midfield is applying pressure, that will then help the oppositions delivery of the ball, giving our defenders greater ability to win their own contest.

Every contest starts and stops will the midfield.

Why aren’t you confident?

All week I’ve heard the media talk up Port and the only rationale seems to be this is their on week.

Well we’ve got a lot to play for and it’s a showdown so I don’t see how we won’t be on either.

They aren’t a better side than us and our form has been better. They beat Geelong who were still asleep from the bye.

Our side has been strengthened from last week and we are only Lynch, CEY and Doedee off our best.

We’ve beaten them 6-1 and have their measure.

It’s our home game.

**** Port and **** their undeserved adulation.

Tex and Betts to fire. Smith to turn out be a midfield gun and the Crows to trawl through my posts for my other good ideas. But they don’t have to look to far, drop Douglas and Mackay for good.
Quoted because I can only like this once.

Exactly. **** the media. **** Port.

I’m tempted to do a poll on how we think Dougie would fare today, on the rise or still falling? I hope to see an angry beast mode Dougie today.
As long as one of the choices involves taking out McGovern ;)

Honest question are you confident any week?

Im not overly confident most weeks as I’m not sure what Crows team will turn up. My confidence starts building during warm up and then after the first bounce to see if they are switched on.

Right now, it’s a 50/50 game.
Nah definitely not most weeks.
Maybe the only time was 2005.
