Koschitzke injures hamstring

News

ST KILDA ruckman Justin Koschitzke has been ruled out of this weekend’s match against Richmond with a hamstring injury.
Koschitzke, who starred with four goals in the Saints’ memorable win against West Coast at Subiaco on Sunday, will have scans this week to determine the extent of the injury.
It is another serious setback for the versatile Saint in an injury-disrupted 90-game career.
Last season he managed seven games after hurting his knee, straining his quadricep muscle and sustaining a fractured skull in an accidental collision with Western Bulldog Daniel Giansiracusa.
West Coast recruit Michael Gardiner is in serious doubt of playing this season and may have surgery on his troublesome foot problem.
Yet to pull on the boots in 2007, the former All-Australian ruckman pulled up sore at training this week.
In better news for the Saints, Matt Maguire will line up for the Casey Scorpions in the VFL.
Maguire injured his foot in the opening round of the season.
Injured teammate Aaron Hamill may also resume in the VFL, but club medicos will wait on his progress this week.

I am shocked. Real blow for the scorpions.
Gardiner out for the year? Wow......didn't see that one coming.

Is he technically Out......given that he was never In?

Would think that this foot surgery will happen now, so that they can assess him prior to a new contract.
The surgery IS a big deal for a big guy......don't be surprised to see him gone.

Bad luck about Kosi (serious).....can't take a trick that guy.

He will play next year, just should have had the surgery at the start of the year. He is the cheapest ex all Oz going around so it it worth the gamble.

u cant be serious if u think they would let him go without playing a game....

he will be a massive attribute to the st kilda side

its like saying get rid of hammill when he broke down for the first time 3 yrs ago, not going to happen... too good of a player to be release without playing

give him a chance, i still think he is a gun

Yep, the official site has the news Gardnier won't be playing footy in 2007. He is going in for surgery. Let us hope he will be ready pre season 2008.

You get what you pay for........and he will be contracted next year.......whether he plays or not.........

Bloody Carlton supporters with a chip on their shoulder. You are like the English, agressive because the empire is over.

Please just admit that he is costing us the same as a first year player to keep contracted. No first year player I know of is a former all Australian and plenty do not play a senior game. The word here is potential.

If you can not see that, you are beyond help.
