Collingwood wouldn't want him. He's an in and under midfielder, whereas most of Collingwood's midfielders are ones who lurk around the back of the pack looking for a cheap kick, a la Buckley.
Yeah, Buckley's no good. He should never have won that Brownlow, Kent Kingsley was robbed.

Average teams don't make successive GFs, and had Buckley stayed at Brisbane they may never have had the list they did in the early noughties, so the question is moot.

Anyway, you're kidding yourself if you don't think he would have been in the Lions' best 22, he won the Norm Smith in 2002, and the Brownlow in 2003, two of the Lions' premiership years.

True that. He was definitely trolling.

Feel pretty bad for Buckley. I mean, how would you feel. All he wants in life is a premiership medal. As if some kind of a tease, he was given the Brownlow and Norm Smith, the lattter being against the club that he left with the intention of playing in a premiership!

To see the Lions play in 3 premierships, 2 of which being against his own club is tragic. Then add on his current state and age and he must feel like he's missed out big time.

Hopefully he can coach and still have a chance. What's the bet he ends up coaching Brisbane and the Pies win four in a row...all against the Lions.

He would not have been in the Lions starting 18, AND not too mention EVERYONE seems to acknowledge Collingwood made those Grand Finals with an average list on the back of a few great players.

Hence why they didnt beat the Lions in those Grand Finals, and hence why when people look back to them NOONE besides MAYBE some deluded Pies fans will refer to the Collingwood team of 02/03 as a great or brilliant side.

And considering how many people have talked down previous winners of the Brownlow and Norm Smith, and how often the best players of particular seasons and Grand Finals havent won those awards, your arguement is hardly compelling.
