Lets get the facts right they where separated, why would making up a story you have depression helps his story at all, the fact there still together tells you he didn't say look im depressed that's why i got with billy ex.

Please people at the time and now still don't agree with his relationship with Nicky. doesn't matter its been a issue for some time, You just keep believing that this whole thing is a conspiracy. He lied to his doctors and all spent a year out of work. all of that because 2 consensual adults got together and had sex.

Well going by your post and comments you believe that Lyon has no depression issues and this just some lie so he doesn't cope backlash from getting with Billy Ex which doesn't make much sense to me.

Lyon has been trying to root plenty of other people's mrs for years. Team mates, mates, people he just met.... I don't see how you can excuse the behaviour and say he did it due to depression. Has he been depressed since his early playing days?

Of course he has let me guess you know someone that knows someone.

I was being smart about that I never said Lyon did it due to depression i was making a point to those people who keep saying Lyon used the depression card as an excuse being busted with nicky the fact he is still with her proves it.

It appears as though it was used to avoid publicly facing the consequences for cutting the grass. Similar doubts were held over Buddy when he played that card.

He may have been depressed for years. Poor bugger just expressed it by trying to root as many women as possible.

I couldn't care how many woman Garry has tried rooting whats that got to do with his illness, It doesn't matter that some of his friends have been worried about him for sometime or the fact that jeff kennett said last year lyon spoke to him about it well before his relationship with Nicky come out. The fact is 2 adults decided to see each other its not a tragedy.

You wonder whether they're really Billy's daughters given the fact they look nothing like him, ie. they're hot, and his missus obviously likes to root around.

It goes without saying; he's done nothing wrong.

People with depression are allowed to claim it. It's not like he needed to give it as an excuse. He could've said "i ****ed off for a year because i let down my friend and it was too awkward to work with him" and there would have been no consequences that he isn't already facing.

I wonder if people would have been more forgiving and less mocking of yet another celeb playing the sympathy card.

Kind of like if Essendon just admitted what they did and Jobe actually handed the medal back.

I know enough about it. Unfortunately these days the "kiddy gloves" you mention go hand in hand with it, so Lyon uses that to avoid accountability for his actions.

Who's saying there's no legitimate diagnosis? This is all about the timing of announcing it and the subsequent attempt at rebranding.

Just wait, Hird will attempt a similar revival this time next year.
