Gary Ablett retrospective on Fox Footy

Got back from running errands a little while ago, turned on the Fox Footy Channel, and we caught the tail end of a special program on Gary Ablett Sr., kind of a "his life and times"-type of review of his career.

Only saw the last 15 minutes of this, and I await the next time Fox Footy will air this, so that we can see it in its entirety next time around. And, not to mention, tape it for Jen's parents, big Cat fans who are cable-deprived.

Jen: "What we saw was great! Will Fox Footy air it again?"

Me: "Will Fox Footy air it again? Honey, is the Pope Catholic?"



So the question I'm asking here is this... what's the name of the retrospective, and when will Fox Footy (or even Fox Footy Extra, for that matter) re-air this special?

It wasn't his feature 'Ablett: One Special Season' was it?

I know Fox Footy Extra were showing this last night. If that was it, it's merely a retrospective of his 1993 season. With highlights, and some very rare interviews conducted by Sandy Roberts.

Usually the replay things quite often, but unfortunately, their online TV guide is a shambles.

Not surprised to see it up the top. It's an entertaining watch, not least because you get to see Gary interviewed for one of the very few times in his career.


It's about time they released some more GFC titles though, they've only released 3 DVD's and 5-6 videos.

I said the same thing to Jen about that...

Gary Ablett may not give too many interviews, but when he does grant one on the odd ocassion, it just makes his comments all the more special. Makes one appreciate it all the more...

saw FFX today and they were showing part 1 of 'the passion to play' hopefully they show it all so i dont have to spend $50 buying it

Buddha - Garry Hocking Story

Those are the only 3 Geelong titles available on DVD that I'm aware of at the moment, hopefully they'll release more soon.

Now that I've seen all three-- my in-laws have the historical retropective, I got the "Buddha" story last Christmas, and now I've seen the Ablett special-- I echo your sentiments. More, please....

I'm surprised they haven't released a video of Gary Ablett's highlights, throughout his career. It would be one hell of a collection that I think they would need to release it on more that one video. Considering he has retired I am surprised someone hasn't done it. It's not like there isn't much footage of him!
