Sorry if that post sounded high horse but its my honest opinion.

Nothing wrong with giving your honest opinion.
I feel differently though. Everyone makes mistakes when they are young. Its part of growing up.
Really we are sort of lucky for being alive as it only takes one of those mistakes to go horribly wrong.
Yeah a smackhead who's overdosed for the 10th time and gets angry at the paramedics for saving them. Hard to feel sympathy.
Any young bloke/girl who od's on a E at a party or something I feel really sorry for.

I've never even touched a cigarette- because my next door neighbours father drank and smoked himself into an early grave, iirc when I was about eight years old. My whole family were never smokers, etc, only light drinkers, so i had a good (relaxed) upbringing re. alcohol as well.

But I guess im lucky in that regard, not every child gets that of course.

Maybe what-ifs can come into it here, while we are discussing incidents and charges.
What if Lethal's punch was a centimetre or 2 higher and hit Bruns in the temple- he would have been killed? That's what his facio-maxillary surgeon told him and the media.
What if Alicia Horan had also survived the cocktail of drugs they both took?

if receiving it added 2 feet to each of his marks, 30 goals to each season tally, and turned his highlights into hi-def, it might be worth bothering with. but it wont. he is one of the top handful to have played the game, and that is the case with or without official recognition as a 'legend'.

i do think what makes a legend is the way the comport themselves, on and off the field. whether GAS' behaviour off the field should be sufficient to keep him out, i dont know or really care. and if it does keep him out permanently, it wont impact in the slightest on what he did on the field, or how he did it.

The ifs were brought up because you have found GAS guilty of more than the courts did. What he was fined for only was being in possession and usage of drugs.
Lethal was found guilty of assault.

When did this thread become the discussion of Legendary status for GAS anyway?

Never said I wanted him out (and you must be kiddingb if you are suggesting bthat incident was the only case which called his "sportsmanship" into question).

It's simply a case of the integrity of the selection process; apply the 3 optional criteria equally to all or none, don't use them selectively as a transparent excuse to rule out one player simply for fear of bad publicity.

Can't wait to hear the mental convolutions when and if they delay GAJ's admission; the twisting and pretzel logic will be even more interesting if they admit him before his father.

He would refuse to attend no doubt.
