I actually hate Queensland's weather, and the theme parks get boring very quick.

Well buddy the point is keep your strong opinions to yourself because I think that the weather is crap in Geelong, I would much rather sunshine than cloudy rain weather all day everyday. Plus theme parks are better than no theme parks I say. However this is just my opinion, no body elses! So it doesn't matter what I think. So next time make your opinion sound more like an opinion and less like a fact Cheers.

Have heard that Ablett jnr has agreed too Gold Coast offer late this week , If he has then who else can they or should they be chasing?
Personally i wanted Selwood from geelong , but hey Ablett is pretty handy
Ruckman ? Key defenders? Forwards?

No doubt ther will be plenty of quality kids drafted but need at least 14/18 established players!!

At this stage, it is far more important to focus on the 16 uncontracted players they need at season end, JUST TO BE COMPETITIVE, than on acquiring one magical player.

Suggest a new thread be started on that list of UNCONTRACTED 16.

Was it Bomber Thompson who said he reckons Ablett has already made his mind up? If he already knows, it's the GC for sure. If he was staying with the Cats, he'd have announced it asap leading into the season for the massive positive hype it would generate.

I agree. I think he'll be heading up to the GC. Otherwise, why would you put your club through the stress? I'd say he has either decided to head to GC, or is yet to make a decision.

Yeah I think its more to do that he has yet to make a decision whether to stick it out with Geelong OR head to Gold Coast.

I for one would love to see him go to Gold Coast, but right now I'm doubting it would happen, I won't be surprised if Gary stays with Geelong and makes his mind up sooner than later. (I say within the next few weeks he will).

The longer this Ablett situation drags on, the more I believe he'll be playing on the Gold Coast in 2011. You only have to look at THE FACTS

* Father lives on the Gold Coast
* Nathan playing there this year
* Split from long term girlfriend Lauren

You'd also have to wonder what more he can achieve at Geelong.

According to Gary Ablett jnr, in his article in the Sunday Herald-Sun last week, Gary Snr is NOT living on the Gold Coast. I heard also that Gary Snr, just stayed with Nathan to help him settle in. Gary Snr is still living in Geelong apparently.

Nothing but a biased rant outlining the reasons you HOPE he will stay.

Wish he'd just make his decision public and put Geelong fans out of their misery.

If we did a survey there would alot more people who would like to live on the Coast then Geelong.

Mate I'm telling you this from a personal perspective as I lived there for 5 years. The gold coast and Queensland is not all it's cracked up to be. The people are the most arrogant you will ever meet, there drivers are ignorant and rude and it rains about 40% of the time. Who cares if it's not cold. My brother has been trying to get out of there for two years, but can't get a job here. Also he know Nathan Ablett through work, training etc and Nathan told him Gary has personal issues that are delaying his decision. He doesn't want to leave Geelong and it has nothing to do with the money but might want a new environment. If the personal demons are sorted out he is staying otherwise he will head off. The best thing for the club to keep him there is to leave him alone to sort himself out with no pressure. This is a fact my friends and anything else you hear is bulls@";

The very fact that he hasn't come out and denied any of the rumours (even with the whole photoshop thing) tells me that he's probably going. I'm not too fussed though to be honest.. while he's good I personally think he's overrated. There's quite a few Geelong players that I would miss more.

Truthfully, I dont think Geelong would miss him, they already have enough star quality players that can get them over the line, but again he is a huge part to Geelongs success.

I hope he comes over, but I highly doubt it will happen.

Notice hes starting most games in the forward line an spending alot of time there.
Only time he gets a run in midfield is late in quarters and when games are on the line.

Reason.... bomber knows hes leaving so is trying to get the cats used to life without ablett in the midfield, but since hes still there might as well use him to help get across line as theres still a premiership on offer.

Think its absolutely discgraceful the massive concessions GC are getting an feel sorry for any club that loses players to them except Eagles,collingwood an carlton.

i sure as hell want gary to say but really the only people who know of his decision will be him and his family they wouldn't of told anyone about his decision (if he has made one) so all the bullsh*t your all making up just isn't true

but in my opinion i think and HOPE gary will stay a cat because he wont get the same protection at GC as he does at the cats and i have always seen ablett try to get away from the limelight rather than be in the middle of it being a captain at GC.

Check my location before you spout fairy tales about raining 40% of the time.

Drivers up here are all slow don't know how to merge or keep left on freeways but haven't had many rude drivers.

Don't have a brother who knows Nathan Ablett so will leave your speculation as is.
